    Decent 7.1 headphones

So I just got a asus strix soar sound card and now I need decent 7.1 headphones to go with it.
Most of the ones i can find are usb with their own sound cards but i want something that can plug straight into my new soar.
What do we suggest? not retardedly expensive but i dont mind paying for them

    I don't think non-USB 5.1 or 7.1 headphones are a thing.

I don't think such headphones exist, because to work they'd need either a bunch of little drivers for each ear, which would wreck the sound quality and cost a lot, or contain a DSP chip to do the mixing.

The usual thing is to buy stereo headphones and let your sound card do the 7.1>2.0 conversion via Dolby Headphone or a similar system.

I had 5.1 headphones back in the day. Connected them with 3,5mm plugs.

It worked, sort of, but they were heavy, almost impossible to balance and the sound quality was just not very good. You're definetly better off with proper headphones.

Had a pair of Original Roccat Kave's years ago they had multiple drivers and a ton of 3.5mm jacks, best gaming and listening I have had with a PC headset, though they did weigh a ton. Not sure if I would go back to a sound card over usb integrated headsets or external DAC's
