    The Forest

Can't believe there is no The Forest thread up, seems to be the hottest game ATM.

Seriously this is the best survival game i have played in a while, check it out, it's also pretty cheap 16,79 or 19,99 $.

It looks pretty good, but I can get my survival(ish) game fix by playing Tarkov. Will probably pick this up at some point doe

It's much much better now, really worth a try.

Servers are aids though, 90% of servers are populated with Germans who only want Germans

This is something I don't get. Playing an online game on an international server and than writing in your (non-English) native language in chat (e.g. WoWS).

My ingame name seems to rightly suggest that I'm a German (speaker), so people address me in German, although I've wrote something in English in chat before. And I do answer them (if game situation permits), but I do so in English so that the rest of the team has an idea what's going on.

I can understand that you prefer your clan/corp to consist of people speaking the same language. And of course not everyone has a master degree in English. But even a wrong English phrase is more understandable to the whole team than a beautifully crafted, error-free (haha, yeah I kid...) sentence in French or Norwegian.

Picked this up, only a few hours in but seems fun so far. Am up for co-op if anyone's still playing?

Turns out this is really good. Great atmosphere, good jump scares, non-tedious (if slightly obtuse) crafting and decent drip-feed of story and kit.

SP is doable but co-op is where the fun is. Fending off cannibal hordes and spelunking cave networks filled with dismembered corpses is much easier to bear with a mate or two at your back. Surprised this hasn't got more FHC uptake actually, perfect small group game.

yeah it is fun, used to play with group of Germans, built a base but then after 2 weeks they stooped hosting.

How hard is it to find normal servers this days?

Don't know to be honest, played private server with a mate from work. Been looking for decent co-op survival and figured this looked worth a go.

Suffers from the same problem all the story-based survival games to: by the time you've built a decent base, the game is easily more than half over. Disappointing after you've spent ages building something cool only to ditch it within a few days cause you've finished the story.

Overall good game though. The 'bad' ending was pretty funny, not seen the 'good' one yet. Don't have the urge to go back to it though like I did with subnautica.

Fun fact, if you want to play without the cannibals you can type 'veganmode' on the menu, and 'meatmode' to revert it to normal. You'll get a title change depending on what mode you pick.

Building up the base is usually the game.

Maintaining it or ruling the zone/world with it isn't.

I don't disagree, all to often it feels like the end comes right after you finally get done building up the perfect whathaveyou.

Seems most like the thrill of building, not the doldrums of after, but I get you.
