    New CCP MMO?

I saw a few reports that CCP is hiring for development of a new MMO?

Whats the story here, anyone know?

    Extrapolating from history:

    - Announcement on 2018 fanfest
    - Aditional studio in 2019
    - development until 2020
    - canceled in 2021

It is probably a zombie battle royale mmo with paid lootboxes giving you progression, judging by how perfect CCP has been on jumping in the "has been" wagon.

CCP's investors need CCP to be more than Eve. They'll use the Eve IP and recurring revenues to try to produce something with more widespread appeal. They'll probably repeat the same mistakes they made with Dust and it'll crash and burn after generating a bit of hype over a cool idea which they can't execute properly.

I'd love them to make something actually good but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Over this past holiday I've been playing CCPs Danger Game included with the EvE Collector's Edition and it's always taken precedence in my guests' preferences over Monopoly, Risk and Cards against Humanity. It is simply that much fun.

I think CCP is at their best when doing niche stuff. They really nail it every single time. Every time they try hard in copying other stuff it ends in disaster because they simply can't do ordinary shit that sells.

It's why I was so hopeful for WoD but they managed to fk that up royally. So I'm not holding my breath in this one, although I'm rooting for them to succeed. The world needs their stuff.

Mostly because monopoly, risk and CAH are quite horrible boardgames.

Excuse me what is better than risk and variations for fun for different people (like, not all of them war games or d&d fans)?

    Genuine question.

Eurogame/German Board Games (a genre, originating in Germany), don't take too long:
Settlers of Catan, Carcassone, Ticket to Ride, Alhambra, Puerto Rico, Imperial Settlers

Cooperative US games, take a long time:
Eldritch Horrors, Mountains of Madness (separate from the Eldritch Horrors game and expansions), Legendary Encounters

    Lose your friends:
    Junta

    History nerdgasm:
    Britannia

I've only played it twice, but Terraforming Mars is also pretty good.

Really long financial games: the 18XX railroad games, like 1856, 1817, 1841v2

    Nations, Terra Mystica...

There are plenty, boardgamegeek might help you find games that you would enjoy: https://boardgamegeek.com/browse/boardgame

I would really love game like Elite, placed in EVE universe. I'd pay for that easily.
