    SQ42 Pre-Alpha Gameplay Demo

Might as well chuck it in its own thread eh?

Looks promising. Great music. So much detail, but all marred by low frame rates (inb4 butt Alfa).

Good job it wont be out for another 5 years, by which time I'm sure we'll all have infinite polygon and bandwidth quantum computers.

Edit: There's a directors commentary version too

    Looks pretty good.

But the scale/speed thing can't be right?
    80-100 m/s certainly didn't look like 80-100 m/s when flying planet-side.

Visuals and Audio are stunning as allways.
But this was also a nice presentation of why their onscreen holographic UI is absolut dogshit. The fiddely radar/map in the ship or the context menus on objects, just terrible.

Also Mouse-Flight-Control ... i really want to see them using Joystick - preferably Hotas - over a prolonged time and not have the feeling they're gimping themselves.

Not to mention the whats-it-called thing on the arm - why not a neural chip or a headband or whatever.
I wouldn't want a big-ass holo-browser hovering above my arm where everyone can see what I'm looking at.

Pity they feel the need to include every cliché from Scottish engineer to the career before family trope.

I just went through the one with directors comments, it was really informative.
