    Respawn EA Sweepstake

EA have bought respawn, creators of titanfall and currently working on a star wars game we know nothing about.

So the clock is ticking, how long until respawn's dessicated corpse is shoved into one of the unmarked graves in EA's back garden?

Funny tidbit, Respawn was bought by EA as part of the their EA partners project. They were cooperating, but EA contractually had the chance to counter offer in case someone made a bit. Nexon did, so EA had 30 days to top it. oops.

I'll give them 5 years, call me optimistic.

Thing is these days, there are so many good games out today, you only pick up a fraction and still own more than you can reasonably play.

Best fps in the last five years..? Maybe ever?
There are three levels that are just incredibly original in the single player campaign. And it's not too long.
It's a must play for anyone interested in fps design.

But really this post is me still being bitter about Westwood.
    Especially bladerunner.

I dunno, DOOM & both Wolfensteins were pretty damn good both by getting the basics down really well, but improving upon them too. Then you have things like Prey, Raindbow: Siege or Dishonored: Death of the Outsider.
    Do agree about westwood/bladerunner though...

Prey is really an Rpg I wouldn't put it into be same category. Dishonored is also a different genre.

Doom and Wolfenstein yeah, but Titanfall 2 is great too, and also has an amazing mp on top of it which they don't. It's a great game.

Not saying its a bad game, saying there are many more besides, so its not the only good FPS around.

5 years, their first release under EA will sell well with minimum meddling giving them a temporary reprieve then they will enter development hell with full EA meddling leading to confused design and execution a massive advertisement budget they need to overcome and either years of delay with little to show for the time or rushed release filled with bugs. The game will sell reasonably well but the added costs of production EA foisted makes profit near impossible to achieve.

Truth, + forced use of frostbyte delays projects and leads to people quitting, lack of experience with tools, etc.
