No I found it boring from day 1, what nerf? Has it got better since beta?

Depends on what beta you remember. It went through 2 major overhauls during the summer with a shit ton new cards to boot.
Basically nothing works as it did in spring.

I do 6 rounds in ranked every evening (because casual pairs me up with 4k+ mmr), it's fun as balls.

Will try this as well, i guess, but i never was big on Scrolls.

Dabbled with gwent but didn't like the lack of minion combat and seemed like there was little interaction with my opponent at all. Really felt like I was just playing my deck and what my opponent was playing or did almost didn't matter. I'm sure I'm just bad and there are tons of interactions and intricacies and might revisit it when i get bored of TESL.

I was never big on scrolls either, lol card game lore.

Ok so heres some budget decks. CVH is the top TESL streamer/content maker and he has a pretty good budgetify series. Tried to include a bunch of diff archetypes.

    https://www.legends-decks.com/deck/2...token-crusader
Tokens are very strong, this plays basically like zoo. Go wide, buff, get board control, dunk. The 5 mana epic support card divine fervor should be 3x in this archetype once you get it (think you get 1 from story mode), its basically a permanent mark of lotus. You can also just throw in stuff like Tyr in there to replace stuff you don't have.

    https://www.legends-decks.com/deck/1...gro-token-mage
Same thing except splashing blue instead of red. Like this version a lot better.

    https://www.legends-decks.com/deck/2...range-sorcerer
Midrange curve deck, some synergy w/ weapons/blacksmith stuff.

    https://www.legends-decks.com/deck/2...er-post-skyrim
    https://www.legends-decks.com/deck/1...idrange-archer
Another midrange curve deck, archer is 1 of the most fun archetypes in the game.

    https://www.legends-decks.com/deck/1...gro-battlemage
Prophecy battlemage, no real comparison to HS. You basically stick in every solid prophecy and go face. With 30+ prophecies you can outrace any other aggro deck, since popping your runes is gonna give you a free card the majority of the time. Really bad against control or decks that just never hit your face and run you out of resources.

    https://www.legends-decks.com/deck/2...-charge-archer
    https://www.legends-decks.com/deck/20265/budget-rank-5
Face hunter. Basically mono-red and splash a diff color.

Heres just a modified budget version of the Aela deck:

People seems to struggle versus token decks. Running an imperial deck and im winning 8/10 atm, low rank ofc but my deck is only from drops/grind so its not opted.(yellow/purple)

Tokens are already one of the strongest archetypes even against top players with most/all of the cards. At lower ranks and playing against people with either 0 CCG experience, small collections, and/or unoptimized decks they can really crush. The game does not have very much viable AOE in general, the strongest by far is ice storm which is an epic so newer players likely aren't going to be rocking 3 copies.

Afaik token spellsword is considered one of the weaker token versions when comparing optimized versions, mainly because purple doesn't really add much compared to what blue, red, or even green add to the basic yellow shell. Unoptimized its one of he best though, since it turns out a 2 mana 2/2 divine shielded minion is great in any card game, and there are some great purple 3-drops like young mammoth and haunting spirit.

That said, this dude apparently hit legend within a week of starting using a home-brewed token spellsword: https://www.legends-decks.com/deck/2...ked-man-legend

Pouring all my gold into vs arena atm, figure if I can get decent there then I can get used to the cards as well and maybe earn some more packs than I would normally, 4 is the highest I've hit so far though so still a long way to go heh

hit legend for the first time, final boss was one of the more popular streamers while he was streaming, my crusader aggro vs his control mage: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/177744200 @ 1:48:30

Never got legend in HS before, it is a lot easier in terms of grinding and much less demoralizing in TESL since you don't drop ranks, but almost every game was against people in legend rank already including a lot vs top 200+ people.

Only common cards are allowed in the entire deck, making this the first Gauntlet event where everyone will be competing on an even playing field!
