reminder, the IPCC is hopelessly conservative in their estimates and lags the consensus by anywhere between 2-5 years, so if you think the updated projections they recently published are bad, consider what the pessimists are projecting.
and how they've been proven right pretty damn consistently.

of course, there is no way we're ever going to reach those projected goals as along as the way to prosperity is directly linked to ever greater energy consumption, and Carbon capture that the times spend so much time on ? it's basically a scam at this point, its completely infeasible on the sort of scales required due to the energy requirement of the process, it's the equivalent of pissing in the wind, and renewable energy's production capacity is not growing anywhere near quickly enough either, we're simply put not making enough windmills, solar panels and hydro facilities to meet the demand growth, to say nothing of displacing actual fossil fuels, nor are we going to be able to at current rates.

so yes, enjoy the impending apocalypse, it's been moved up about 20 years so there's at least a chance that the old fuckers who keep getting in the way gets to see it before they die.
    Viking, n.:
    1. Daring Scandinavian seafarers, explorers, adventurers, entrepreneurs world-famous for their aggressive, nautical import business, highly leveraged takeovers and blue eyes.
    2. Bloodthirsty sea pirates who ravaged northern Europe beginning in the 9th century.

Hagar's note: The first definition is much preferred; the second is used only by malcontents, the envious, and disgruntled owners of waterfront property.

At least there will always be liberals with their capitalist apologism to suffer through it too though.

It's why those hobbit houses are becoming trendy. People getting used to dwelling mostly with a nice soil layer between you and the naked solar radiation.

I'm revulsed at the mere thought how much money this costs while everything being labeled as "eco".

I'm confused on why it's not underground, that would be more efficient... This is just a chiapet house. I doubt the cost-savings exists beyond 10 percent with added water costs to keep your house alive.

Yeah. Would make sense underground with some proper carbon-eaters growing on top.

    That's just dumb.

So Michael has turned from a tropical storm to "near-worst case" scenario for the region within 2 days.

If Michael moves from 155 mph to 157 mph, it will be considered a category 5.

This is actually pretty fucking astonishing that a hurricane of this intensity formed in the Gulf of Mexico and not off the coast of Africa. Storms like this are going to be the norm in the future.
