Guerss this means eiter CCp don't give a shit about me quiting or they assume since I'm still changing skills I will resubb at some point. The Mittani
We're in the nitty gritty examining metrics related to the crisis, seeing which player demos have unsubbed. So far, things are ok. #csm6

Same. Still changing skills and similar maintenence, but once my current game time (been using plex for quite some time now) expires, neither account is coming back.Originally Posted by Irion

I still think they have a long way to go to regain the players' trust. I personally wont re-sub until they can convince me that game-breaking advantages wont be sold for RL cash.
I think you probably overestimate the perceived importance they place on subscription retention. Incarna's planned feature set, and DUST are both designed to bring in new players... which they clearly value more, just based on their past statements and actions.Originally Posted by noobcake
They haven't cared for years what the old players think... because despite all the stomping, bitching and screaming, they still stick around and have for years. That's the whole thing behind Hillmar saying "we have to watch what they do, not what they say" thing. So they know they can alienate us without real repercussions, we may ragequit, but I'm sure their numbers show that we'll be back.
That said, they have to fix prices so they don't drive away prospective new players with the rumor of the 70 dollar monocle.
Finally, No disrespect to the CSM members, you guys care about the game and want things done to keep it fun for everyone... But you know goddamn well the only reason they brought the CSM to Iceland to discuss this shit, is because it's a PR tool and nothing more. Always been that way, ever since the first one. It was conceived during the T20 debacle, and I'm sure they're happy they didn't get rid of it yet with this NeX shitstorm.

m8s they mine these forums. if you are changing skills and posting they consider you "active." to make any difference and save this game and thus give meaning to your life you must... stop posting.Originally Posted by larcatofzion

What can The Mufanny hope to achieve here? What can The CSM really do about CCP's actions?
CCP need/want to make more/lots of money. They've delivered new money making 'schemes' by the medium of suprise buttsex. The CSM will get us an 'apology' for this. It'll be something along the lines of: Dear players, we at CCP would like to apologise for being sneaky and attempting to dry bum you for cash. Next time we won't lie to you. We'll be right up in your faces about it. :smug:
Then the mufannys face will appear like this:

CSM: CCP's PR Tools. Hope they enjoy being someones tool.
Their tweets mean piss all, because they (the CSM) means piss all.
CCP will do what CCP wants to do all along, any claim that CCP "changed" because of the CSM is lolPropaganda at it's most obvious.
They'd be less butthurt if development was focussed on Space, Ships, and things directly wanted/related to both.EVE's playerbase is perpetually butthurt, nothing can stop the butthurt.
EVE is alot like a 1980's Multinational Conglomerate.
Instead of just doing what they're good at, say, making and selling Widgets, and being the best darn Widget company around.....they instead get bogged down also buying and owning comapnies that make Cars, make Planes, make Pianos, and owning a record company, a baseball team, a movie studio and four racetracks and a theme park.
Back then, they called it diversification, great for profit, not so great for product. Never great for the Original Product. Look at Coke Cola, Gibson and Fender Guitars for great examples of how the product fared after the small company became (or was bought) by the does-everything Conglomerate.
Well, thats EVE now, run by marketing and accounting. Instead of being and running the best Sandbox Space War/Space Colony game around, now they are running the worst developed FPS Semi-Sandbox Werewolf Spaceship Monolced Avatar Closet Fashion F-2-P P-2-W Space as an Afterthought next to Pants and Dresses with Vampires in them Game.
There is somethign to be said about have a razor focus on what you do best, and not riding with trends. EVE today is riding with all the trends, and the core game, space, ships, and fighting them (ships) over them (space) has clearly suffered, from years of "hey wowee" trendy new unfinished content as they rush on to the next trend to ride or worse, they rush to be that big gaming conglomerate who does everything, none of it particularly well.
That's a little tinfoil hat there but I do agree with the sentiments.Originally Posted by joe space
Until your account fails it's next billing cycle and goes inactive they can consider you an active subscription. My main doesn't run out until mid-August, I've cancelled the next payment. Perhaps I've moved to PLEX instead (or plan on doing so).
So no, I don't think at this point in time CCP's :metrics: show any real harm or problem more than forum rage.
As I said in another thread, it'll be interesting to see the stats when August is over and all the people who have buggered off's accounts should be largley inactive.
Your Logic fails to realize that CCP won't listen to them, they'll will do what they want, and how they want... the CSM is a PR Tool and nothing more, they created it during a PR shitstorm, and they're using it again during another PR shitstorm... it's so the company looks good to possible new players, thats all.Originally Posted by Irion
As long as they don't sell ammo and ships, I really won't care, because they're not making me buy a 68 dollar fucking monocle.... but I would also prefer they not sell faction standings... but that's far from gamebreaking...
but really, at the end of the day CCP will do what they want because despite all the kicking and screaming, motherfuckers still be buying that monocle...

Disagree completely. Things like that fundamentally clash with the spirit of the game, and will only open the floodgates for more.Originally Posted by Drachenlord

oh no, a mission runner can buy his way to level 4 agents... SHOCKINGLY GAMEBREAKING... you people are just so dead set against anything like this you're blind
Ships and Ammo, Gamebreaking... faction standings... oh no... oh no... those empire carebears can skip lvl 1-3 agents and..... grind lvl 4 missions.... which only takes a few days to get to anyway...
so I fail to see how this is gamebreaking... and once you reach lvl 4's... it doesn't take that long for a hardcore missionfag to get to 9.0 to install a jump clone.
So... explain since I'm so Fucking ignorant how this is truly gamebreaking for those of us that spend 90% of our time in 0.0?
