Cousin is back in Hospital. Doesn't sound optimistic.

    Fucking hell man...

A few months ago my mother had a few TIAs (mini strokes, whatever) . She went for a followup this week. Got bounced about the hospital and now she's getting some porridge removed from her carotid artery on Monday.

She refuses to give up smoking (as stated previously it's a big bone of contention between her and Mrs Lark). Am I right to stop caring?

If you stop caring now are you going to regret it if she gets worse?

As someone who's dealt with several elderly relatives who refuse to give up bad habits and also an ex-smoker who used to get badgered by everyone around him, yes, you're probably right.

You're not going to stop someone doing something just because you want them to - they have to want to. If they don't want to, they won't, and not a damn thing you or Mrs Lark can say to change that.
    'I'm pro life. I'm a non-smoker. I'm a pro-life non-smoker. WOO, Let the party begin!'

The best thing to do is to develop it as a new fetish tbh

Let's face it she's old and the prospect of giving up the smokes is not very attractive vs the sweet embrace of death.

Mynana was advised to stop smoking, but she was 82 and already given a 15% per year chance of massive heart failure. The stress of coming off nicotine didn't seem worth it tbh. Smoke on little engine. BLAZEIT

Had lunch with the long distant past today.

I'm very, very glad the past is in the past.

When I run in to exes, I am always relieved if they got fat and ugly. Maybe I am a dick like that.

I've found all the married ones do at least. It seems to be some rule that married women get fatter.

All my exes look awesome, it's only me who's slowly falling apart
I was somewhere around Old Man Star, on the edge of Essence, when drugs began to take hold.

One of my exes married a bloke who is basically a balder version of me (IKR) and had kids by him.

It amuses me greatly in the grand scheme of things.
