I'd rather have a real release in 1H2021 than more of the same shitshow in 1Q2021.

But to not even name them, to only show 2 reference card images and 1 of those being single fan solution, it's not even clear to people considering a 3060 or 3050 that a 6700XT/6700/6600/6500/6300 is a thing to compare with within 4 months. I don't think they'd be Osborning their own high tier cards but could certainly impact mindshare of the competition.
Which reminds me, did we ever hear when Intel's Xe would actually arrive as a viable discrete 3rd option?
That would be preferable, true. Hell, I'd take available 3080s over any new releases.
3080TIs have popped up, they are seen as safe bets. But I'd rather have more of what was announced already than new cards. Though low end cards would be nice for people that are interested in those.
IIRC the Xe was something for developers. Their new dedicated mobile graphic chips are Xe units. So no, you can't have one and probably wouldn't want one in the first place.
EDIT:
I should have checked my news feed.
Nvidia's CES stream happened:

Mobile GPUs and 3060. Right, 3060, the cheaper brother to the 3060ti. $329 msrp - yeah, that's gonna happen.

Perhaps it's just paranoia but I'm wondering why they think the 3060 needs 12GB of VRAM.
The x60 cards have been kind of a mixed bag recently to be honest - long, long gone are the days of the 460 and 560 which were your price/performance kings.
'I'm pro life. I'm a non-smoker. I'm a pro-life non-smoker. WOO, Let the party begin!'
Seeing this chart from anandtech just makes me think the 3060 is just designed to punch AMD by selling to people who think MORE VRAM EQUALS GOODER
It really depends on how much oomph the 3060 actually has. Because cards do benefit from more VRAM at least in the past 5 years or so, especially if you aim for 1440p.
Guns make the news, science doesn't.
Especially with RT enabled. 6GB pretty much kills viability of 2060 in Cyberpunk.

Why is it called earth, when it is mostly water???
So I got the update from my work told me they are shipping the laptop on monday. Therefore I am selling the laptops I have and I just went ahead and bought a new deskptop.
This is what I bought. I went with Daneel's suggestion of the B550. I chose the ASUS ROG Strix E as it seemed to have a good amount of features I actually will want. The GFX card is going to be a fucking pain. I could have ordered a 3090 (lol £1300) but that was expensive. I want to go team red with a 6800xt, am I fool to do that over a 3080? Should I wait for 3080ti (good luck ofc)?
I am going to get a 970ti as a stop gap between now and then.

I'm hoping this will play tarkov in potato mode for the time being.
I haven't watched this (and can't embed due to Tapapapatalk) but this should tell you whether it's a good idea or if you should get a 10 series or whatever for a similar price. Low end cards are available.

Hm, looking at the buy now offers for both cards on ebay.co.uk, the price difference isn't that steep for twice the perfo:
1060:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GeForce-G...Condition=3000
970:

(this one is a lot cheaper than the others)
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Asus-Stri...Condition=3000
(this seems to be the usual lower price point)

Yeah I'm just hoping to get something local, that I can pickup. Everyone I've contacted cant do pickup today.
I'm also nervous about buying something adn finding it wont run Tarkov at 1440p (albeit potato mode)
