Eventually yes. According to Robert Hallock (AMDRep) anyway.
But Threadripper is not intended for gaming.
While true I'm guessing Zen2 Threadripper (Threadripper2?) might be less terrible at gaming than Threadripper1 was. All CCX now go through the I/O chiplet for their memory, so there aren't any CCX with much higher memory latency than the others, which was one of the bigger gaming issues Threadripper1 had. That is, if they follow the Zen2 design we've seen so far.
Everything we know about the 64-core Epyc2 is that they've kept GHz very low to deal with thermal issues. It'll be interesting to see how they clock the chips with less cores and how they clock Threadripper2. That might have a big influence on real world gaming performance.

It's starting.
Also checked and my b350 board has a bios upgrade for the new cpus so its entirely too tempting.
Well, a R5 3600 will be ordered. But that was kinda a given .. RAM is cheap anyway.
The mainboard is the question … as I want a board with a USB 3.1 Gen2 Front Panel Header. So its either something like a moderate X470 around 150, or I get one of the cheaper X570 one for around 200 (lol). Probably will end up being my most expensive mainboard ever :P
Navi looks decent, but will have to wait for custom cards. Technically a Vega56 for 250,- is still better value for the buck, and enough for WQHD … buuut .. less shiny ;D
Positively surprised, they delivered above expectations!
I hope this will make Intel respond, with both price cuts and better products.
For my use and budget, Intel will still be my first choice.
Just waiting for those PCIe 4 mobos.
