I was looking at training up for carriers over the next few months and as I don't have bs V in any race atm I'm stuck into deciding which carrier to go for, I was drawn towards the nid initially because my character is predominantly minmatar anyway. Quite frankly I'm drawn towards carriers as a logistics platform more than anything and they're obviously all identical in their ability there, however it would be nice to have a useful carrier platform for pvp, or even pve if i ever find myself out in nullsec again.

Any thoughts for a hugely indecisive player?

Erm sorry i messed up a bit in pyfa you dont actually need to find any CPU anywhere; This is the fit i was talking about:
    Code:
    [Nidhoggur, Triage Shield]

Capital Remote Armor Repair System I
Capital Remote Armor Repair System I
Capital Remote Armor Repair System I
    Triage Module I
    Capital Energy Transfer Array I

    Shield Boost Amplifier II
    Capital Shield Booster I
    Shield Boost Amplifier II
    Invulnerability Field II

Costs about the same as a similarly pimped Archon and can almost match its repping power with only two reps whilst lasting three times as long.

But anyway statswise: (reps are on a myrm with 50% resits across tech board)

    3 CRAR reps 2.5k for 2m 14s (Archon: 1.85k for 2m 39s) w/CETranfer 1m 25s (Archon: 1m 40s)
    2 CRAR reps 1.69k for 7m 31s (Archon: 1.2k for 9m 0s) w/CETransfer 2m 23s (Archon: 2m 50s)
10k local tank stable at 58.5% (Archon: 12.4k stable at 52.6%)
    68.8K total cap with +550 regen (Archon: 81.1k w/+544)
    724k EHP w/375k shields (Archon: 948k w/625k armour)

So for single triage operations this actually looks like it might be a good idea y/n? Because I really want a reason to train for this without being laughed at.

Is 9 cap mods enough? I thought archons rolled 10-12

The fittings on the niddy don't allow you to pick. If you rep shields you're tanking armor and if you rep armor you're tanking shields. It's annoying, but true.

Anyone got a good shield outgoing rep for the niddy? I can only come up with this:

    Code:
    [Nidhoggur, Triage reps shield]

    Triage Module I
    3x Capital Shield Transporter I

    5x Imperial Navy Cap Recharger

    Damage Control II
    2x Capital Armor Repairer I
    True Sansha Armor Thermic Hardener
    True Sansha Armor Kinetic Hardener
    True Sansha Armor Explosive Hardener

3x Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
    Which TBQFH, sucks.

This isn't bad. Fits with a 3% PG implant and lets you provide solid all-around support to your fleet. Reps 3300 shield/sec, 1650 armor/sec. If you want pure shield repping, yank the cap xfer and CRAR for a third shield xfer. You'll need a 3% CPU implant instead of PG if you do that. Pops your rep up to 4950 shield/sec.

Tanks 9.3k stable at 55%, runs two shield reps for 4m 31s, one armor plus one shield for 5m 25s and both shields plus armor for 1m 57s

The only real worry is the local tank not holding up vs new and improved dreads. The last time I took a nid with a similar tank into combat it tanked a pre-buff moros, carrier drones, and a small-ish (15 BS + assorted support) fleet, but only just barely.

Been Playing with this a while trying to pull a good setup, that tanks and reps in armour, this is what I have come up with.

    [Nidhoggur, Triage Niddy]
True Sansha Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
True Sansha Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
    Capital Armor Repairer I

Capital Remote Armor Repair System I
    Capital Energy Transfer Array I
    Large Energy Transfer Array II

    Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
    Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
    Large Capacitor Control Circuit I

Implants to most efficiently roll this Setup

Genolution set (About 40-60mil for the set, so not wallet painful)

    I also roll

    EO-604
    EM-604
    RA-704

    20638 Deeps Tank w/Exile + Legion (Stable @ 54)
    9321 Deeps Tank Bare

    Both CRARs Stable @ 58

CRARs + CET for 7.34 Minutes

Not bad TBH, could be better, but not bad.

EDIT; Added a Large Energy XFER II in the highs, nothing else fits there, not even a Heavy neut.

I would also like to point out that the Two CARs on this is as near as makes no difference equal to the Three CARs that are similarly fit on an Archon (Assuming Carrier V Naturally) due to the Nids bonus.

The large xfer has pitiful range, nid doesn't get the Archon's bonus to range.

    I am aware of this.

Large Xfers dont get a bonus on the archon anyway, its only there because nothing else fits, will keep a Bhaalgorn or a Guardian capped up so its not an entirely wasted slot.

The Cap Xfer is absolutely needed unless your solo triage, even then, its still good to have.

When using Triage Doubles/Triples etc you are in refit range, so the range on the Capital Xfer isnt such an issue.

Would need a 1% PG Implant, which would require taking away the Cap Regen implant, which I dont want really.

An autotargeter would go great there. Extra locked targets ftw.
