Didnt like that one at all. I didnt like the Maseratis, i didnt like how they did the whole thing. It was just overscripted lameness, probably the worst used car challenge they ever did. There was pretty much nothing about the actual cars in there, it wasnt clever (may for example could have driven to the british embassy to win on a technicality), the scripts were to forced - just meh.

I second this. It was quite funny.
The launch control segment cracked me up.

    Final Ep. and Series Thoughts:

Was allright. Some highs (battleship, dildo tossing, car pr0n), some lows (senile forces, eboladrome, celebrity skip this segment every time).

    Will watch more.

    Good episode.

On the series as a whole, it was good tv. Not great (by old top gear standards) but not bad either, good tv either way. Entertained me well for an hour every week. The track didnt have the same oomph as the old one, although im not sure how much that is due to age and us knowing it so well. Before gambon "named" his corner, before all the stuff happened the top gear test track wasnt all that interesting either, although they dont really seem to work very much with the new track. The old one grew on me becuase it was in pretty much every episode, and not just in the timed lap, almost any used car challenge ended with "back on the top gear test track" and similar. So the new ones doesnt really have any personality so far, although i think that due to the tent format where they dont actually live on a track.

I for one didnt mind the celeb thing, it was only a minute long and some of it was really funny (golden earring for example). The murican was a bit meh and i whish theyd just hire ben collins instead (or get a finnish f1 driver).

Overall, if they cut down the scripting a bit, do more cheap car stuff and do good challenges again (nothing like the nature cards or the maseratis) and get a epic special again (this one wasnt bad, but it really wasnt the best one they did either) the next series might be the best one ever.

Today is a studio day for the new Top Gear series. Security has been substantially increased around the track. Not sure if this is something they'll be doing all the time or if there's an extra-special guest this week.

Has the amount of rain britain gets gone lower and lower over the last 15 years or so? I was watching some old old top gear episodes recently and it poured all the time, half the laps were wet ones. Modern erpisodes are usually in the dry and even the normal films shot in the Uk are a lot less rainy then they used to.

Is there actually a way to watch Top Gear live when a new episode airs, if you are not living in the UK?

Probably going to watch 1 episode and if it doesnt totally blow me away ill just skip it. If i want to watch a car show for the cars and infos i go elsewhere, i want entertainment from Top Gear, and that left to make the grand tour.

Its been a relatively dry winter yes. We must have offended the rain gods somehow. Probably with Brexit.

The grey clouds gods are - as always - well happy with us though.
