Just more proof that the GDR was socially far more progressive than West Germany.

Not sure if that smiley is needed, because in lots of areas it was.

About time. It's always been a point of shame to me that this wasn't allowed long ago.

    meanwhile, in Austria.

    Viking, n.:
    1. Daring Scandinavian seafarers, explorers, adventurers, entrepreneurs world-famous for their aggressive, nautical import business, highly leveraged takeovers and blue eyes.
    2. Bloodthirsty sea pirates who ravaged northern Europe beginning in the 9th century.

Hagar's note: The first definition is much preferred; the second is used only by malcontents, the envious, and disgruntled owners of waterfront property.

I don't have a problem with Kurz or the ÖVP (conservatives).

However he may form a coalition with the FPÖ, which became the third strongest party. Compared to them the AfD is the Antifa.

Easy. The UK was always making trouble for the EU and tearing it apart was a great FU for Brexit.

Tearing Spain apart risks not just a vicious internal dispute but risks the separatist contagion spreading to other member states as the richer parts of nations abandon the poor parts. Also if they support Catalonia other nations may well follow the UK out of the EU if it is the only way to maintain their integrity.

Also, apparently there is around 40 regions in the EU who want to break away semi-seriously.

I strongly doubt that. If they count Franconia, Bavaria and Lusatia in that number, I call bullshit.
