Well Serbia is not in EU and Bologne declaration was presented as a absolute word of God that must be respected. What, Milošević was ousted in 2000 and by 2005 all universites were fully Bologne.

The bologna declaration is only a set of guidelines. It's down to the country to implement them in a sane way.

A lot has been blamed on HURR BOLOGNA but is entirely down to other factors fucking up.

Of course it's a handy thing to blame when you can't design a school program worth shit.

There was some noise about "if you veto it, we'll just pass a budget for everyone else" in the runup. If that happens, then this is a calculated prelude to exiting the EU for PL/HUN.

Because in the end, those wannabe autocrats would rather be king of a poorer shitheap than respect democratic values.

    Unfortunately not.
Orban played the pandemic crisis management well (at least it is shown as they are doing a decent job).
Together with the anti-immigrant stand and Muslim horde fearmongering went well in the non-Budapest regions in Hungary.
The country is still pro-EU and the anti-EU rhetoric stopped, like 5 years ago (?), after Orban realized it is hurting his party's image. UK's breshit was also a good lesson for all.
Opposition is extremely lackluster, with no leader present.
I only expect a major change in Hungary, after Orban kicks the bucket. Than the FIDESZ would tear itself apart.

Hungary will not leave the EU, the country's economy would not survive a month.

The EU not being able to stop member states from becoming dictatorships is not a great feature, might want to get that looked at after WW3.

    But muh sovereignty!
If EU, organisation among whose founding ideals is preventing reappearance of fascism in Europe (through economic prosperity and integration) tries to do anything about it's member states abandoning democracy and rule of law suddenly it's EU that is evil fascist 4th Reich. And all member states anyway have veto rights on EU "forcing" anything on them. But is the left who are real fascists.

It's the first time in several years that the police in Berlin used their water cannons.

Their de-escalation tactics used to be very successful in reducing the massive riots that happened every year on May 1st.

The water cannons were only used in a rain like mode, as protesters brought children with them, allegedly as protection from the police. There were 365 arrests, ten officers were injured, two heavily.

Protesters managed to get into the Bundestag while the updated infection prevention act was discussed and voted on. Some protesters were allegedly invited as guests by AfD MPs.

So basically, these anti-social nazi asshats brought kids with them so the cops couldn't do anything to them.

Don't you feel like maybe there's something wrong with direction your country is headed towards if you get this kind of response? I mean, even statistically speaking, they can't all be nazi leftovers.

The western world largely has the same disease everywhere.
Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves for slaughter.

After reading all about the situation in France and it's inspirations and ramifications, seems like some of the stupidest centrist bullshit law making I've seen since the Patriot Act. Is it really as ham fisted and useless a law as it seems?

Hungarian EU parliamentarian, representative of the conservative Fidesz party, and staunch opponent of LGBT rights, Jozsef Szajer, has been arrested after attempting to escape with his extacy-filled backpack, from a gay orgy, in breach of COVID-19 related restriction, in Brussels.
