The basic concept that removing yourself from an index that helps a global audience find your content is going to hurt you shouldn’t be hard.

it is kinda cute, in a "look at that dumb americunt" kind of way.
    Viking, n.:
    1. Daring Scandinavian seafarers, explorers, adventurers, entrepreneurs world-famous for their aggressive, nautical import business, highly leveraged takeovers and blue eyes.
    2. Bloodthirsty sea pirates who ravaged northern Europe beginning in the 9th century.

Hagar's note: The first definition is much preferred; the second is used only by malcontents, the envious, and disgruntled owners of waterfront property.

well by that metric you're obviously safe, with the impressive degree of myopic ignorance you put on display at regular intervals.

    Schopenhauer:

All truth passes through three stages.
    First, it is ridiculed.
    Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident..

Just-eat, Skype, Spotify, Rovio just off the top of my head, and we haven't left Scandinavia yet.

Of those, only Spotify gets close to being a leading company, and Skype isn’t European anymore.

Their most fancy tech mostly comes from Israel...

For reference, it’s 11 of the top 100 and most of those are the big consultancies, who more or less resell tech from other regions.

you're also making a fundamental mistake here, there are no uber equivalents because the regulatory and market structure doesn't permit people from taking a old concept such as "pirate taxis" and slapping a fancy buzzword on the side while marketing it to gullible investors as new. it's not that people don't try that shit, but that the relevant regulatory authorities slap it down hard and that means no investment money for it.

of course, you'd be a fucking moron if you didn't realize just how deeply the existing corporations invest into the tech sector, Siemens is a good example of this with their now defunct joint-venture with Fujitsu, but also their industrial controller branch (SIRIUS), it's just done with, you know, a actual objective in mind. compare ARM holdings to Intel and note the difference in approach to the market. (and go ahead, call ARM a "nobody" i dare you, those chip designs run basically everything, including your future kitchen sink)

Existing companies can invest in tech. That doesn’t make them tech companies.

ARm are owned by the Japanese now.

I completely agree your regulatory environment stifles innovation though.

so in erichkknaar's world the work going into building a adaptive national scale powergrid grid to handle a increasing number of windmills, including bi-directional communication with individual mills in order to manage supply vs demand automatically is not "tech work".

but brute-forcing your competition out of the marketplace trough a combination of exploitative labour practices and selling below cost like Amazon does is, because it happens trough a web-page.

    okay.

    Such artful "trolling"

Too bad it's blatantly obvious from the incessant self wanking elsewhere that it's perfectly genuine but pretending to be trolling, as usual.
