Dell and LG are selling/have announced 40 inch "business" ultrawides, so panels in the right size are already being made. Doesn't seem unreasonable to me to think there may be gaming versions of these fairly soon.

I'd say having that monitor should go some way towards mitigating the pain of not having a 5k by 2k ultrawide

I've had the 34GN850 for a short while now, so far very happy with it
