Being able to use my other screens as well as the new monitor without doing a Nick Fury still makes the normal 1440p the better option for me instead of the ultrawide option.

Issue is until OS or video drivers permit what NVIDIA Quadro drivers did (like tiling windows on the same monitor with just wrist flicks), multiple monitors > 1 ultrawide at least for productivity.

There is a ton of software for things like that, no need for a solution from the OS or vid card drivers.

Yay another shitty app to throw hooks into the video driver and other crap to make everything crash and burn

Dad's old display was starting to flicker, so I steered him towards a Dell S2218H for $130. Arrived in 3 days, no dead pixels, but the HDMI cable was defective (took a while to figure that out). Replaced the cable and we're good.

The above Dell monitor had a green flicker that made it almost useless. Don't get it.

In more upbeat news, my ultrawide remains wunderbar.

So does my 21:9. I've put a 16:10 monitor on it's side next to it to annoy the 16:9 plebs even more though.

With HDR? Possibly. I found these, but they don't have HDR.

Newegg doesn't have good filters, here's what they have.

So is there anywhere that shows the actual size of these devices if I’d like to mock one up out of cardboard to see what will fit on my desk? At work right now I’m using a mismatched set of Dell monitors; one 19” or 21” 4:3 monitor, and one 24” or 27” 16:9. I’d like to replace them with an ultra wide and gain a bit of screen real estate, but I have the small office with the small desk, and need at least some desk space for actual paperwork.

All the websites I’ve been to seem to list either packaging dimensions or unboxed product dimensions, but not screen dimensions with curve stats (so I can cut a blank of the screen out, bend it to the proper radius, and put it on my desk).

    1. Get a big piece of rectangular cardboard.
    2. Starting at the lower-left corner, make a mark on the vertical edge 9 inches from the bottom. Draw a pencil line level across the entire piece (use a yardstick/meterstick).
    3. On the horizontal edge, make a mark at 16 and 21 inches from the lower-left corner. Draw vertical lines at the marks with a pencil.
    4. Using red and green markers (or any other color combo), draw lines from the lower-left corner to each of the line intersections. Extend them to the edge of the cardboard.
    5. Using a yardstick, measure each colored line. Start making tick marks at 19" and every inch thereafter. Label every odd inch.
    6. Cut down to size as you see appropriate.
    7. Admire your masterpiece and loan it to others when you're done.

Aw VA panels aren't really that bad to pass those specs at 300 britbux tbh.
