Talk about loss of faith, I tell you what gives me faith: This community. In spite of CDong killing SHC, the majority of you crusty old bittervets are here on the successor forums less that 24 hours later, (un)happily bittervetting away with one another. It almost makes me feel warm and fuzzy.
P.S. a BIG thank you to Entrox and Sofia for getting this running. Having to post on Kockupsemen would have killed it for me.
P.P.S. Someone tell Malcanis as I think he's still busy fudging on Kugu.
P.P.P.S. Entrox, if you need some cash for the upkeep, let me know.

you arnt a full bittervet until you sell your main but still keep shitposting about eve![]()
i started eve in january 04 and played until 09 sometime and then was inactive for ages before selling up. saw alooooot of dumb shit moves from ccp in that timeto be honest most of it wouldnt matter enough to stop me playing if it wasnt for the fact they steadily changed the game into something that really wasnt any fun in a chase for subscriber numbers. the community is great, well its mostly aspie cunts who take the whole thing too fucking seriously, but there were (maybe still are) some awesome people playing, but after a while that isnt enough to override the shitness the game has become.
i think ccp has gone too far down this road to crap to come back from now. obviously its possible, but i just cant see it. would take a rather seismic shift that i doubt they have the gumption for.

Well i play from 2004 , and i think that after you did something for so long you get nostalgic and pissed at some changes and the inability (apparent)of CCP to deal with some problems. The sence of wonder we always get in the first years canīt stay forever, now i think i enjoy the game more not because i login to play the game but i login to play with some eve pals i got over the eyers and for that alone eve rules.
I've quit EVE many times, restarted many times and deleted several times. I quit playing around October last year, decided to never come back to EVE and to make sure of that I sold my chars.... guess what. Caved in short while ago and started a new char but meh, it sucks. 2 days ago I contacted my old character to see if I could buy it back (it had been traded again in the mean time), guy was friendly and it turned out he had used the char to grind sanctums in RZR space and had trained for... Minnie carrier![]()
So uhm yeah, not sure if you can be bittervet if you care enough to put in effort to get your old char back.
I realised before 1.4 that i was only logging in to change skills and not even trolling eve-o anymore so I cancelled my sub before learning about the latest screw up. Good thing too.
At least I got a final troll/flame in beforehand.
Does web team == Team Awesome == Getting Development focus for the next year?
The degree to which this last fiasco has eroded my will to play is staggering.
I'm no longer sure I want to put effort into blogging about this game, I'm no longer sure I want to put in months of effort to organize one of (if not the) biggest player run events in MMO land twice a year.
This is all so very fucked, I want to love this game and company so much, but they are making it so very very hard to do.
What kills any faith I have is that as usual nobody will be held accountable (doesn't mean firing, but without accountability nobody will learn that rushing out buggy shite or not doing basic industry best practice is bad). Even worse is that many of the team involved aren't even in the office today (for a number of reasons, but not because of accountability). Other people at CCP are utterly pissed at this fuck up because it all reflects on them too. Most people still believed the forums were built from the ground up because that was the message webcell were selling internally too. Perception is realityOriginally Posted by Helicity

From my perspective one of the main reasons why many people (myself included) push for improvements in small-gang warfare is precisely because we've scaled down what we want to get out of EVE to the level where we can actually try to control the entire experience ourselves. EVE still has a lot of solid core mechanics, and despite the many screwups from CCP the game can still be great fun when things go right.
Domination.
