    1. Play as Austria
    2. Create a religion that generates cash
    3. Use that cash to buy city-states
    4. Cruise to victory.

271hours played & today I finally bothered to play a game through to victory. Score at the end made me feel inadequate.

I like the color scheme. No troll.

Cities are waaaay too close to each other.
I start raging when my shit overlaps between two cities (even a single tundra tile, durr), and here is a clusterfuck.
No surprise his capital is 12 when mine is 28~~

Ah yeah, I do see your point.

I cant quite tell what size island they are on. If they are on the same one as Egypt, it could be a case of no room to expand due to competition. (which would then mean it would be pointless to have that settler.....) Is that an MP or normal game? If so AI is dumb, nbs?

RazoR, more slightly underdeveloped cities are quite often better, you sound like a bad

    Celts UA relies on forests.

    Celts have no forests.

    Sucks to be them v0v

Still makes no sense placing four cities within 10 hexes.
They have some serious work to be done on AI.

It does make sense if they have no room to expand into.

Would they have built a settler if there was no expansion opportunity? Even the AI would think again before going off on a dozen turns of no growth.

the AI is fine, get a grip

there's plenty of Deity level players that might plant cities like that if there resources to support it

it got surpricingly quiet in here after the release of Gods and Kings expansion, i hope it's because you're all to busy playing it to whine.
So what are the thoughts from some of you that have bought the expansion?
I'm just waiting for a sale to get it myself atm

Amusing but it breaks all major mods and vanilla civ 5 isn't terribly interesting. Also the religion stuff doesnt add all that much to gameplay, dont remember what else it adds.

Would have liked some AI improvements instead, its still not very good.

The steampunk scenario is cool though.

I still stand by my judgement postet here. Religion basically adds some assorted buffs of your liking to your civilization.

Spies ends up to be an arms race for city states. They're not a game unit, but another info screen. You can't purchase/create them, but you're granted another spies when reaching a new epoche. The first one when reaching industrialisation, IIRC. When palced in city states, every once in a while they will "manipulate the election", which simply shifts influence around. Used against other civs, they maybe steal a technology, reveal plans ("<x> builds up an army to attack <y>"). You can tell <y> about the plans of <x>, which <y> acknowledges. But that didn't hinder <y> to declare war on me a few turns later. If place in your one cities (capitol), they're on counter-intelligence duty.

I haven't bought it as everything I have read suggests there isn't much meat to it. Might pick it up on sale though.
