Shame. I was flying today and I've decided I'm done with the shitty Orange receivers. I crashed again because I've lost all controls for about 5 seconds and flew straight in to the ground. Oh well

Miny arrow project is at a halt at the moment since I really dont have any room for assembling it.

Nah. Original Spectrum stuff. Cost for everything is like tripled compared to cheap Chinese copies but atleast it'll work

I cant find any local stores who sell FrSky stuff. And I'm sure mailing stuff from UK would cost too much. I quite like Futaba or Graupner transmitters

    edit: lol 194€

Then you are insane and no one can help you.

Graupner is Chinese tat now and has zero quality control. Futaba is insanely expensive for not even 50% of the features and no one in their right mind would get it unless you are already invested in it.

Well other club members recomended those two brands to me. I'm not changing mine yet. If I keep losing signal with these new receivers I'll switch to a different one

FrSky ftmfw. Cost effective hardware, opensource software, all the features, fraction of the pricing.
Only thing you could complain about is the stick pots if you're special, but even that its a jiffy to just replace them with Hall sensors and even then it'll cost you less.

    Nah, not trolling.
The DS16 is awesome; build quality, support, receivers, software are all top notch.

The DS14 isn't much more expensive than the Horus either, but a lot more receivers to choose from, up to 14 channels (Horus has 8?)
Plus no messing with OpenTX (unless you enjoy doing that). There's always LUA on the Jeti radios, if you wan't to write your own programs.

And if you are flying stuff that costs upwards of 2000 Euros, i'd rather not trust in opensource software or cheap receivers.

I was going to suggest the HobbyKing EU warehouse, until I remembered that HK really don't stock the good FrSky stuff, and what they do stock is expensive. Happy to act as postal proxy if you need it.

You depend on it whether you like it or not. Probably with your banking in some way even.

Based on the number of hardcore turbonerds of the highest programming caliber who are into the RC drone scene that I know, including autonomous stuff, I'm pretty sure the software associated with it will be quite good actually.

    Carry on.

I had a similar issue with my Tundra, I was very fortunate that it settled facing upwards, so full throttle and I would've been able to fly it out of the tree except for 1 little twig that refused to give up it's hold on the vertical stab. Fortunately when I throttled down it just tumbled rather gracefully to the ground. It was a very high unclimable tree, so getting it down would have been a nightmare.

Sure, the stuff I fly is not over 2k euro, but when flying around obstacles (tree's, bushes etc), the FrSky stuff keeps link, while the Graupner and Futaba stuff keeps getting into failsafe. You get 16 channels btw(Taranis 9). I'll admit that the software thing is something you may not wish to deal with, but I never noticed any problems with it and I find the customization bliss.
