Used to be ass to play on Rift (well, performance-wise. still put way too much time into it despite the terrible framerate), but as soon as Oculus updated their SDK for release and added ATW it's smooth most of the time. Still some places that chug along noticeably though.

This is one of the best vr games atm on market.
It runs like fucking ass on my vive. I prefer to play non VR. Also the interface was fucked up. Its a Rift game though so i suppose it runs better on that

Even non VR the game crashes all the fucking time. Like at least once every 20 minutes. Makes playing a pain. Its a super fun game too when it runs well. Hope they sort it
I haven't had issues with it, but it might be memory leak issues (the engine UW uses to build NS2 and Subnautica are notorious for keeping a lot of stuff in memory).

One of the ongoing issues with memory use is the terrain engine. AFAIK it's still voxel-based as a holdover from when terraforming and procedural generation were on the features list.

What kind of framerate do you get?

No, it's a great. And with rift it transcends greatness. Nothing gives the same feelings as actual diving like this game paired with rift does.

I'm going to have to check this out, see what's changed. Played it last about 18 months ago - was good, but really gets the bathophobia going.

Yep, I find it really really hard to explore underwater caves..
I guess that means it does its job very well

For me it's not underwater caves - it's not seeing the ground if I travel at sea level.

I know a lot of people who have exact same fear in real water (my mother is one). I had her give it a try and she literally tore the rift from her head after she looked down. I was not able to convince her to try again.

It's a phobia that I forgot the name of. Seems I have a light version of it because I can manage but it makes my skin crawl.

Also I hat that one Youtuber comment (markaplier?) all the time :"Fuck the ocean. Fuck the ocean. Fuck the ocean. "

A small tip I found last night. Tanks in inventory don't extend your air supply (they used to), but you can switch them from inventory while diving. Just don't right click them or some drowning may commence
