    Civilization VI

    Announceded - http://www.pcgamer.com/civilization-...buffer_pcgamer

Decent noises on AI but I have found Firaxis failing to deliver on this of late.

Anyway, hope it's a lot better than Civ:BE which sucked.

Needs to be ten times better than BE and actually a complete game, not a rehash of all the old mechanics with anything new coming a year later in DLC

Did they make BE fun yet?

I didn't like BE that much, I'll probably end up buying this anyways.

At least it made me look up the soundtrack for Sunshine on Youtube again.

Not hyped after BE, will wait until after launch to read about actual feature improvements.

City districts sound a bit like Civilization:Endless Legend edition.

I'm a bit butthurt that they're apparently already abandoning Civ:BE. The first expansion fixed some of the biggest flaws but it still needs a lot of work to realise it's potential.

Edit: Trailer seems a bit "muh freedom", laying it on a bit thick.

Looks like one of those shitty mobile games "Wait 10 turn to build this wonder or buy it for 3.99"

It's a slightly brighter coloured version of the civ 4 aesthetic. I preferred the painting style of civ 5 myself but w/e I don't really play civ for its looks.

I don't mind the new look. Kinda reminds me of Civ4.

Do you ever like anything ever when it is announced?

I'll end up buying it on sale with all of the expansions. I never play Civ MP anyway.

    Cautiously optimistic.

Loved Civ I, II, III and IV, hated V.

The look reminds me of The Settlers. I personally don't like cartoon/comic like art at all, but then again I never played Civ for its graphics.

    I like this part:
Support units can be embedded into other units

Civilization VI isn't removing Civ 5's one unit per tile rule, but Firaxis is dialling back on some of the harsher restrictions. "One thing we wanted to do was make sure you could tie units together. In Civ 5, it was tough to escort your settlers across the map because you couldn't tie them to a military unit," says Beach. Additionally, Beach notes, armies were perhaps a little too spread out. "When you need to concentrate your force to take out a city, everything being on its own tile was a problem at that point."

Beach describes support units as, "something that was part of your military force before, that really shouldn't have had to take up a tile." As the name suggests, it's supporting equipment: battering rams, siege towers, anti-tank guns and anti-air guns. "All the stuff that's like special equipment for you units. In Civ 5 you had to have a separate tile, but we've gone away from that."
Given my Civ history, I'll end up buying this. Perhaps not on release date this time, like I've always done before, as BE was a bit disappointing compared to Civ. But I've bought much worse games in the past for more money.
