    No you're a meatball!

    Hello FHC I'm looking for a good Swedish meatball recipe, the ones I've snagged online have all been rather tasteless.

    Thanks in advance!

    I like that you quote that... Old jersey is probably one of the most successful / influential marketing campaigns in history.

    This blog has never steered me wrong:

    YMMV, I have never made this and now I don't eat milk/meat anymore, I probably never will.

    Swedish meatballs eh? börk.

    The way I do it is that I mix stuff and meat in a bowl using my hand and then molding them into a ball and frying them with butter as the cooking oil, it's simple and delicious. You can do it like this;

    Mix breadcrumbs with cream and let it be for like 10 minutes, ´fry the fine cut onions with butter and let it cool down a bit then add the breadcrumb cream mix into the pan, add the meat, one egg, one veal broth, salt and pepper into the same pan and then start mixing them together with your hands, after that you can just take small pieces of it and form into balls using olive oil or water on your hands if you want different taste also for it to not fall apart, you can put them in a readied oven form thing with formpaper or whatever its called so you can make them all right away or you can fry them right away on a second pan, up to you.

    Fry the balls in the pan for like 3 minutes on relatively high heat, shake the pan to make them remain ball like as they become solid and that's it.

    On how much you need is really how much you wanna make but eh for 4 portions (which is a lot i'd believe)

    One yellow onion,
    2 dl cream
    1/2 dl breadcrumbs
    butter
    400 grams of minced beef
    one egg
    1 veal broth
    1 teaspoon of salt
    1 teaspoon of black pepper

    thats the complex version, mines just simple like this;

    Get the spices you want, minced beef, mix them together in a big bowl, water your hand or olive oil as you mix them, make sure they stick together and then take small pieces of it, form them to balls and fry them. Might not be as refined as the one up there but it works still.

    "Add meatballs to sauce"

    The fuck??

    /Swede.

    Sorry I don't have a good recipie to share. I never learned how mom makes them.
    But if you're gona eat them with sause, the sause is served separately. You don't boil the balls in it. Meatballs are fried. not boiled.
    The classic version served at every ikea in the world is mashed (or just boiled) potatoes, meatballs, brown sauce and lingonberry jam.
