Literally the entire point of cake. Fucking stupid saying.
Have the cake. The saying is: have the cake and eat it too.

    *sigh*

Yes, i know. "Want to have the cake and eat it too".

Well of course i do. I don't want to have it and NOT eat it, and i can't very well eat it if i dont have it.
So i repeat: Fucking stupid saying.
The original saying is "you cannot eat the cake and have it too", which makes more logical sense.

    Its possession, not consumption.

Aided by a quirk of English, where we have things for meals.
Now that makes more sense. Good job!
Just to further beat the point, my understanding was that it meant still having the cake after eating it.

At least that's how I've heard it used, suggesting that someone wants to do something (eat the cake) without the consequence (no more cake).

    I may be wrong.
Totally not Victoria Stecker forgetting his password and not having access to his work email.

I think the important point here is that cake is good.

I thought it was that the Brexit cake isn't real. Or maybe it is but it's actually a shit sandwich and no one wants to either eat it nor have it. Except for that weird kid in the corner eating paste.

Guys, don't be that weird kid in the corner. Please?

The brexit cake promised to the uk voters has turned out to be made from sand (with copious amounts of cat piss in it) by a 2 year old with a slightly cracked orange plastic mold.

This is my understanding of it, too. But as I'm no native English speaker and no native ever explained it to me, I might be completely wrong there.
