I've never seen a civil service RAG be entirely red. That's civil service for "we're absolutely fucked, we know we're fucked and there's nothing we can do to fix it".

Key IT project the Safeguards Information Management Reporting System to track nuclear material post Brexit and post Euratom, required to be in place by end of this year “irretrievably lost” deadline to start in last financial year
"irretrievably lost" might be my favorite project description so far

It's becoming more obvious that leaving the EU will be hugely expensive and polls are indicating its losing popularity. Even if we wanted to leave we are not remotely in a position to do so in March, at what point do we accept this isn't going to work?

Doesn't matter what we accept. What matters is what the ruling class accepts.

Yeah we can make a success of this...

    eventually.

relationship breakups between people are always hardest during the first few weeks, probably years in the case of our countries

rest assured, the sky won't fall down, just a few fat cats share prices.

and probably quality of life and/or job security for quite a few people

if the RAG is red it just means we need to do something about it. doesn't mean everything will blow up.

    perhaps stop being so dramatic?

    strong badposting scenes

idk why people would be dramatic about a drastic downturn in just about all of our prospects for at least this entire generation

you realise that RAG sheet is from the people who are tasked to make sure your various nuclear reactors dont blow their caps, go on a sightseeing tour towards the planetary core, or more likely, both. right ?
    Viking, n.:
    1. Daring Scandinavian seafarers, explorers, adventurers, entrepreneurs world-famous for their aggressive, nautical import business, highly leveraged takeovers and blue eyes.
    2. Bloodthirsty sea pirates who ravaged northern Europe beginning in the 9th century.

Hagar's note: The first definition is much preferred; the second is used only by malcontents, the envious, and disgruntled owners of waterfront property.

Yes, a red RAG means that something needs to be done.

    There are three problems however...

    * They don't how to fix it
    * The government isn't telling them how to fix it
    * The government isn't giving them the resources to fix it

Here's a solution to all of the above

    time

    there we go all fixed.

nothing will blow up in the meantime.

    happy?

Yes, because issues with nuclear reactors are always fixed by doing nothing except waiting for some time to pass.

You realise that Euratom has very little to do with nuclear safety/regulation of nuclear sites themselves but more to do with the control and safeguarding of nuclear material between states? Right?

The UK pulling the plug on Euratom without some sort of arrangement in place would be bad but not an immediate disaster and certainly not a safety issue.

I don't know guys, I think we go with Sp4m's plans to just do nothing with all our nuclear reactors and infact put him in charge - he has really strong 'do nothing but wait' plans here.

I see nothing wrong with not having robust controls on our nuclear materials.

Amber is for 'we need to do something about this' normally that means additional resource/redefined scope. Red means 'we wont be getting this done by deadline', you are meant to sort it out before it goes red.

Nothing really matters anyway since the suffering caused by the complete incompetence of the ruling classes will be forgotten at the heat death of the universe. Just give it time and you won't even be alive to give a fuck.

Doing nothing worked just fine for some certain mess in Ukraine, others will step in and do what needs to be done without needing to spend any domestic model moneys.
