Article 50 is pretty vague. There are legal arguments for ending the process which are apparently plausible but I'm not clued in enough with lawyer speak to really understand them. One of the arguments came from the guy who added the clause about leaving apparently though.

The thing is that it doesnt matter one bit what the lawyers say.

To change UK exiting EU need a 100% consensus on leadership level. If one says no its no. And no way you will get that consensus.

Never underestimate the power of lawyers working within a labyrinthine bureaucracy to delay a deadline indefinitely

Yeah and both parties do want to get something out of it; the EU wants their 50+ billion and the UK wants market access; so for all the hurfing & blurfing they will find a way to come to some agreement... eventually.

Well, yeah. It's just that It won't be an outcome anyone wants or actually good for anyone.

Except the lawyers who always get paid of course but yknow.

It's actually an excellent time to be running a company in the UK whose revenue is mostly in dollars. By the time I switch over to replacing my primary income with my side business, I even expect rental costs in London to have dropped in £ as well as in $.

If not for this goddamn empathy, Brexit would be amazing.

No you don't, you need 100% agreement to extend it. To withdraw it is not mentioned in law at all and many, many leaders of the eu have said it's up to the uk.

I don't think it will happen, but if the uk withdraw art50 we would stay.

I'm unsure religion alone makes people rape people and kill people and shit. Not for a while now.
