Hammond just came out and straight up said yesterday that the cabinet hasn't even discussed what 'type' of Brexit they are aiming for.

The whole thing is a complete shitshow and the disaster capitalists are circling like vultures.

Ah there, look at Keckers not having paid any attention whatsoever. It'll be a "red, white and blue" Brexit.

they've already lost the next election, there's no real gain in flat out lying to the public at this point and a fair bit of lost face if they do.
    Viking, n.:
    1. Daring Scandinavian seafarers, explorers, adventurers, entrepreneurs world-famous for their aggressive, nautical import business, highly leveraged takeovers and blue eyes.
    2. Bloodthirsty sea pirates who ravaged northern Europe beginning in the 9th century.

Hagar's note: The first definition is much preferred; the second is used only by malcontents, the envious, and disgruntled owners of waterfront property.

Don't underestimate the ability of mildly left wing parties in britain to throw away easy wins.

Yes. As part of government efficiency measures, the right to a fair trial is being replaced with the right to a speedy execution. There will be an integrated efficiency target that is reported combined with NHS A&E waiting times - the quicker people are shot at airports the lower the overall reported combined waiting time - win/win!

Today's least surprising news is that the UK is to lose its influence over the ECJ - https://www.theguardian.com/politics...urt-of-justice

Well tbh once you're out of the EU, you could reintroduce capital punishment.

    That surely won't backfire.

I wonder how long after brexit effects become clear the pension triple lock will last.

It depends how well costed the alternative is. Nobody wants millions of impoverished grannies on their hands, it's harder to tell them to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

The triple lock is fundamentally bad policy. It means pensioner incomes virtually always outpace working people which can never work over a long period of time.

Agreed, it was a bribe offered by Cameron to pensioners..give the workers austerity and secure the old folks vote

Hell, some even commentators on the Right are even suggesting bits of it should be scrapped.
"I think we could all do with sitting back a bit and detaching ourselves from the situation to really think about how these issues reflect on our future and how we discuss them here and be a bit less aggressive or defensive because everyone has a complicated set of circumstances that has led the to place importance on particular issues and it doesn't meany any of them is less valid, we just need to look at the broader picture"

It's was because he didn't want to actually have any Conservative policies that old people would like to vote for so he had to bribe them to have a chance.
