I suspect a combination of causes. One being # of tests in Africa vs. # of test in the EU. Same goes for reporting/statistics. I suspect these to be more accurate in the EU than in Africa. And this is not to blame someone. Given a finite amount of resources, I'd rather have these put into helping those who are in need than putting them in the statistics departments.

There are other surpising numbers. Surprising in the sense that scheince can't explain it yet. E.g. in Germany the death rate sinks.
We've got better at treating severe cases so less people die of it, ie blood thinners used to prevent embolism, using ventilators more appropriately, loading up vitamin D, certain anti viral combinations etc
Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves for slaughter.

Add cryo treatments to break fevers not responding to meds and new meds against cytokinetic storms coming online. The pace is blistering atm when it comes introducing new drugs to fight Covid and I actually feel really optimistic about the future even if we only get a crappy vaccine.

Co-worker's mom died of COVID-19 this morning. Her father is also in the hospital with COVID-19.

It's a rough time to bring older, that's for certain.

I got my antibody test kit for the random population study today, negative on the result which I expected but I'll say this; the online behaviour/lifestyle questionnaire that you fill in when providing the result is very thorough, it's like being interviewed under caution.

One of the multiple choice options for the actual test result input section was "I can't remember the result and didn't take a photo", lol.

Well, if that's the case, science would explain it. But as I mentioned, they can't seem to explain it. My guess is that they already measured all things you guys mentioned in, but the death rate is still lower than predicted taking these into account.

All/most people that could die from it has and the remaining are lucky enough to fight through it with help of new treatments and experience from healthcare?

Well seems cases are rising in stockholm area after being in decline for awhile. But it seems mostly young people partying snd ice hockey / team sport folks that get infected and they rarely need to go to the icu.
Man just wish the virus could loose momentum and die down.

    WOW

I mean we all thought it would happen back in March.
What are his chances to survive it? I mean his medical team will be top notch, but he's also old and not in great health.
