Well that is not 100% true. If a random Afghani wanted a tourist visa he would have a lot of trouble getting it, work visa I guess near impossible...
But he can just come as a refugee and be automatically accepted.

To be fair, if Smarnca wanted to be a passportless refugee to Afghanistan they'd probably accept him too (while being very bemused and laughing a lot, but still).

Maybe they shouldn't have chosen to be born in a war torn nation whose resources get extracted for profit by companies in the developed world they end up fleeing to.

Eastern Europe already experienced being part of an exploitative failed state so they probably just want everyone else to be as fucked as they were

Much like the inevitable revolution of the working classes, the fall of the nation state have been just around the corner for over 150 years now.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mining_in_Afghanistan

According to a joint study by The Pentagon and the United States Geological Survey, Afghanistan has an estimated US$3 trillion of untapped minerals.
Afghanistan's significance from an energy standpoint stems from its geographical position as a potential transit route for oil and natural gas exports from Central Asia to the Arabian Sea. This potential includes the construction of the Trans-Afghanistan Pipeline gas pipeline. The first Afghan oil production began in October 2012. Afghanistan's resources could make it one of the richest mining regions in the world.
According to a September 2011 US Geological Survey estimate, the Khanashin carbonatites in southern Helmand Province have an estimated 1 million metric tonnes of rare-earth elements at a potentially useful concentration in the rock, but of unknown economic value.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rare-e...rth_production

In 2017, China produced 81% of the world's rare-earth supply, mostly in Inner Mongolia, although it had only 36.7% of reserves.
The West has a strategic interest in securing the Afghan natural resources sector.
