The thing with rare spawns is that if you make them more common their value goes down the toilet.

True enough, but there's considerable scope for increasing the aggregate value of loot drops in order to stop the intrinsic value of any specific drop being diluted too much. eg: deadspace weapons alone would add over 100 possible drops.

Yeah, just introduce more common spawns and bind-on-loot mechanics for faction/deadspace, that will be good rofl.

Well this is where this is going. Usual MMOs are actually stimulating the loot whore syndromeŠ by not making available certain stuffs unless you yourself actually farm them. Those are BOP (bind on pick up). EvE will never manage the same result unless some of the loot is BOL (bind on looting), thus I imagine that if they go the usual MMO way - they alread announced "dailies" (as in daily "quests") via the Tribute system - they'll at least consider introducing this mechanic.

I consider it shit nevertheless, because I cba to farm 7 fucking faction neuts for my Bhaalgorn. That and that it'd actually fuckup massively the market.

How does that apply to deadspace weapon drops in anyway that doesn't already apply to deadspace shield/armour/propmod drops?

It does apply to everything. Jesus, it isn't always about you.

A lot of people are saying null sec is not as rewarding as high/low sec so why should I live there and defend the space. The answer to me is this graph.

Moon minerals are the main "reward" for living in null sec and guess who gets those, Management. The normal null sec dweller can't go and mine moon minerals on his own (unless it's the shit moons) and even if they did they need infrastructure to do it.

Null sec ore got a little boost a while ago I think but I wouldn't know if that made a big difference. I haven't mined in null sec since 2005. But null sec sanctums and plex are just not worth it. Simply put CCP needs to put more rewards that a solo or small group of null sec alliance players can go out and do and be able to make more money than faction warfare or SOE missions. If they do it, then null sec will thrive again. And before you say OMG the economy!!! Fucking Incursions are single biggest retarded thing to happen to this game and the economy survived.

Edit: I broke the page but I don't care.

Sorry for not realising that the contextless bullshit that you invented out of nowhere didn't refer to the post immediately preceding it.

Passive Moon Mining was one of the worst decisions CCP ever made IMO.

BoP or BoA makes sense in those games though, but it indeed is a problem of eve that all is isk and isk is all. Everything can be bought for isk, so making the coolest ever pve is usless if its isk/h isnt good enough, if its too good only it will get farmed making all other pve crap, if its to hard the isk/h gets dropped down and it wont be farmed, it needs to be just about the same as everything else and then isk/h still is most likey best elsewhere so that gets farmed instead.

Other games can easily force players to do the content the devs want the players to run, eve cant.

Eve players will find the most efficient way to do something, not the most fun way.

If CCP manages to create an activity that is rewarding to do for 20 minutes and gives you a decent reward for it, then eve players will do it 20 hours 7 days a week and complain that it's not fun enough, or alternatively they can make the reward for it a lot less rewarding and then only new players will do it because non-new players can't be arsed to warp to a belt for a potential 10M ISK.

If anything CCP needs to think about introducing limits on content consumption. Like the daily system that's popular in other MMO's. That when they can keep some activity that's fun for a short while rewarding without it being ran into the ground.

This of course doesn't touch on shooting-red-crosses.

Although I think the problem with shooting-red-crosses isn't so much the red crosses, or their lack of AI, or how much hitpoints they have and how much DPS they do, but simply how one-dimensional the engagement is for the player. There is no counter-play, rats shoot and you either tank or you die. Unlike other mmo's where mobs will often force the player to take action at certain moments. But I have no idea how to fix that in a realistic way without inventing overly elaborate and probably flawed features that aren't really eve-like to begin with.
