    Beams do melt things but they drain the cap SO FAST. I find pulses generally kill as quickly over time and are more useful against players where consistent trigger holds aren't really a thing.

    Here's my Vulture with a gimballed beam and a fixed cannon, it's pretty damn fun to use in PVP and PVE. It has a 5B Shield Generator and 5B Thrusters because I can't quite get the power for A rated. I know B is the heaviest but it has plenty of maneuverability and speed to spare, and I felt it was worth gimping those for the A-rated FSD which makes it not absolutely terrible for jumping. Cargo space and scanner/interdictor make it a decent smuggling boat as well.

    Fixed weapons so I can practice my aim, gimbal gimbal to victory is perfectly fine and more effective in PvE. Downgrade Shield gen / Shield cell bank if necessary, this is a bit overtanked as it is. Also you will have to retract your hardpoints in order to fire the shield cell bank. There are other options (priority groups etc) but I really CBA.

    You're right. Seeing as how they have different ranges and use different ammo types I should just use two pulses.

    Nahh, it's more than that. It gives you synchronized heating and cooling, plus all the range and targeting properties.

    If you want more damage at the cost of power management then dual gimbaled beam lasers are awesome on the vulture.

    The fixed burst laser is 1.66 power grid whereas the gimballed is 1.65.I can't fit a fixed burst on that loading.

    Fit a 3E life support instead of 3D, problem solved.

    Also consider how necessary an A class FSD is for your play; if you're just running missions in a few local systems or RES, you don't really need it

    this is how i'd run your fit Proc. Drop down to c shield boosters and voila, 2 fixed bursts, less tank, more spank.
    I'd also refit those cargoracks for internal armor if you know you're gonna be ratting for a while
