feel obliged to update this 'review'. over last few weeks had another go at getting into this game and got fully hooked and is now one of my favourite CRPG's. I think my change in attitude towards the game comes from playing irl d20 rpgs (5e DnD) recently, so I didn't find the pathfinder rules as frustrating. still has real frustrations (unskippable sloooooow dialogue scenes), but would say it's generally superior to the most directly comparable games (Pillars of Eternity), and not far off the slightly different and slightly better Divinity Original Sin.

That is quite a claim my dude. And given my love for PoE (1 and 2) I am now very interested!
Kingmaker is interesting and engaging, but do find a walkthrough that explains the kingdom mechanics. Also, be mindful of how many ranks you need to invest in skills before you qualify for different prestige classes. Especially for your companions.
