Oh no the horror. So the total price is still less than the regular steam link price?

Just a Quick FYI for anyone unaware regarding the Steam link. You can run Steam games on any android device.

Uhm, I have Steam on my Windows PC. I have Steam on my Linux machine (which happens to have a GT710). I can stream any game from my Windows PC on my Linux PC without any extra software. I have no idea why you guys talk about extra software.

My only complaint is that I can't order more than one in one go so I can take like 4 for the same shipping monies

It's for streaming to a TV so you can play awesome platformers like Ori and the Blind Forest on your TV instead of hunched at your PC

Mhh, I should try it. Install a minimal Desktop + Steam and see if I can stream from my PC.
(Currently it boots directly into Kodi)

    Do I get surround sound?

Honestly if you want to have a minimalistic setup then a full blown PC attached to the TV doesn't really count

Not to mention you may have your gaming PC in another room entirely and it may have more performance to boot. Basically the Steam Link doesn't really shine unless it's using a wired setup anyway.

Ever heard of a stick pc?
Or if that's not practical enough, there are machines the size of a large matchbox with multiple USB and HDMI ports for all your I/Os and wired networking to minimize latency. They're quite sexy, and alot more capable than the link thing.

But they're more expencive than a Steam Link, so I guess there's that.

While wired certainly is best, my steam link works just fine on wireless as well, granted i am playing couch games and not some twitch shooter ass shit where it would matter.

Got my Steam Link today, forgot I had bought it.

What an utter piece of garbage, my gaming screen is UW.
So no games works on TV unless I change resolution to 16:9

Got it running on a wireless connection, no latency issues at all.

Does your PC have an ultra wide screen?

    No it doesn't.

Otherwise it would stream in ultra wide.

I had the other problem, windows PC in ultra wide, Linux PC I streamed to (same tech) only had FullHD. It added a letterbox to the stream.
