Was just about to post that.

    CNN's article here: https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/25/world...nce/index.html
Here's a stunning picture on the NASA site showing the area where they found water on Mars: https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/image/050...nMars2_gcc.jpg
It's a pity that a fried mars is indicative of no intelligent life.

So the recent air leak on the space station was not caused by a space debris, but by a Russian worker who drilled the hole by mistake, then tried to cover it up with glue.

Naturally, Russia accepts responsibility blames it on "deliberate sabotage", possible by astronauts themselves.

Space agency chief Dmitry Rogozin said the hole detected Thursday in a Russian space craft docked at the orbiting station was caused by a drill and could have been done deliberately, either back on Earth or by astronauts in space.

"There were several attempts at drilling," Rogozin said late Monday in televised comments.

He added that the drill appeared to have been held by a "wavering hand."

Russia insists that it was NASA astronauts who drilled the hole in the ISS.

The working theory goes something like this: one of the American crew members—there are three presently on board the station: Commander Drew Feustel, Ricky Arnold, and Serena M. Aun-Chancellor—got ill sometime in August.

Therefore, to force the evacuation but not have to pay for the cost of an additional Soyuz to fly to the station, a NASA astronaut drilled a hole in the orbital module of one of the Soyuz spacecraft.

shit man I can draw stick figures if he has trouble filling seats.

You know what, if dudes with fuckloads of money want to invest in shit like this I say let em' rip. We have enough atrociously rich people that we ought to get a few of them to finance interesting and important projects.

Maybe we just need turn civilization saving projects into huge vanity endeavors and let the ultra rich battle each other over who is going to fund those instead of taking the moral high road and try to do it "for the greater good".

I'm not certain I like this. Sure he is talking about "artists" and invoking some big names, (and some infamous like Michael Jackson, but I guess being a horrible pedo isn't such a bad thing in glorious Nippon)... but we don't have such today.
It will end up with a billionaire paying 6-7 millionaire celebrities to fly around the Moon. Without some minimal astronaut training and selection you could get 3/4 of them being space-sick the entire time, rest 1/4 being terrified for their lives. This could end up being "celebrity Big Brother, in spaaaaceee!". And that would result in a lot of negative PR and actual space science and astronautics community distancing itself from Elon and SpaceX is disgust.
