    DON RUMATA IS A REPUBLICAN

    CHANGE MY MIND
Don Rumata is definitely NOT a Republican.

Don Rumata is (in my view) an establishment corporate Democrat.
The proper term is "Limousine Liberal".

That is correct. If anything, I hate populists and socialists more. You can negotiate with actual real conservatives. Socialists you put against the wall.
I see very little in common between you and Alistair tbh

Unless by "real conservatives" you mean Trumpists.
    They’re both Liberals.

Which means they’re basically opportunistic, convictionless hypocrites.
    I love you too Lach.

Basically. Might be the only thing the right and left agree on.

Totally not Victoria Stecker forgetting his password and not having access to his work email.

American terms are backwards as usual. "Liberal" is usually associated with "left" which is really "right" in the rest of the world.

Pretty much, they've forgotten it's important to say 'neoliberal'

Not all liberals are neoliberals though.

If you ask a CDU or Canadian Con MP if they support some kind of national healthcare, they would say of course. If you ask a Dem outside of the 2020 frontrunners, there's a good chance you would get some moronic answer about how they support customer choice and free enterprise

I think even the right-leaning definition of liberals/neoliberals/whatever in other countries are somewhat better on the issues than the people occupying the American definition of liberals

American politics are terrible in general because it's shifted to identity politics and "muh opppresshuns" in the past 10 years, and neither big party between the Democrats or Republicans are fiscally conservative - but what I really mean is fiscally liberal in that the government should be smaller, especially federal government, which would be left in most countries but the term conservative and right are synonymous in America because left and right here deal almost purely with social issues and not economics.

Identity politics is a cannibalistic path to self-destruction and civil war if taken to its logical extreme. Imagine if every politically charged idiot acted like antifa or proud boys.

Fiscal conservatism is trash though. Look at how awesome austerity policies have been for the UK.

While identity politics is moronic and divisive, the top priority should be to curb the money. When you have corporations and interest groups pretty much outright buying representatives and ordering legislation like congress was a drive-thru, you're going to get nothing else done until you fix it.

Identity politics is what the majority practices all the time, when a minority gets hold of it they freak the fuck out and want no more.

Getting the CFO of Huawei arrested will surely ease the tensions between Trumpistan and China.
