I have to admit I'm a little disappointed that Trump will be partly prevented from destroying the US. Just let him do it so I have an excuse to learn Chinese.

So it looks like Trump has fired Sessions for nothing. Basically, if Whitaker tries to do anything, Mueller can simply ignore it.

    Edit: also, this:

You are going off a faulty argument. He wasn't fired, he resigned. Dream on to the next rule of law will save us scenario.
Fired vs resigned is not the relevant bit of the argument. The relevant bit is that the attorney general has to be someone who was confirmed by the senate. Whitaker was not. Rosenstein was.
He will be though, that is an easy thing now.

    Sure. But he's not now.

Even if the process is relatively fast there's a month or two where he can't interfere with the investigation.

Rick Scott, the guy who made his fortune by defrauding medicare, is accusing the Democrats of fraud as he might lose his senate race in Florida after the reocunt.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/08/u...is-gillum.html

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Looming recounts in top Florida election contests, including the bitterly fought races for Senate and governor, erupted late Thursday into a fiery feud as Gov. Rick Scott, the Republican nominee for Senate who claimed victory on Tuesday, sued local elections officials in two of the state’s largest counties and accused them of “rampant fraud.”

Standing on the steps of the Governor’s Mansion, Mr. Scott announced on Thursday night that his Senate campaign had sued the Democratic elections supervisors of Broward and Palm Beach Counties. He then asked the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, which he helps oversee as governor, to investigate them.

“The people of Florida deserve fairness and transparency, and the supervisors are failing to give it to us,” Mr. Scott said. “Every Floridian should be concerned there may be rampant fraud happening in Palm Beach and Broward Counties.”

Le based redcaps were cheering when the news broke that Ruth Bader Ginsburg broke some ribs since that can be fatal at her age.

I guess it's more about the "melody" than the "message". Look no further than FHC, where evry tiny bit of disagreement in another's answer is needlessly spiced up with some personal insults.

Which always leaves the question for me: if a post is really insult-worthy, but you already have escalated your insult levels to 11 in every "normal" post, how do you make your serious utter disagreement this time distinguishable from all your former ones?

That's because it is important to maintain brand identity in order to manifest effective communication synergisms and empower convergent information channels.

Most socialist groups have many members really well versed in the language of capitalism, it's almost like the know what they are talking about as opposed to being a slave assuming it's working for them.

that, and the fact that higher education is statistically correlated with lefty viewpoints.

studying the system and realizing it's a rotten turd sandwich makes people want something better, who would have thought.
    Viking, n.:
    1. Daring Scandinavian seafarers, explorers, adventurers, entrepreneurs world-famous for their aggressive, nautical import business, highly leveraged takeovers and blue eyes.
    2. Bloodthirsty sea pirates who ravaged northern Europe beginning in the 9th century.

Hagar's note: The first definition is much preferred; the second is used only by malcontents, the envious, and disgruntled owners of waterfront property.

    No, not at all.

I had other FHClers in mind, when I wrote that. And other insults, those sexual/anal flavored ones.

And to give everyone a perspective: I encourage everyone to crawl thru my 4000+ posts and count the personal insults I directly aimed at a FHC posters individually*). I'd be suprised, if that number is double digit.

*) I know I've thrown out insults to certain groups, e.g. religious people, so naturally if a FHC member is/considers himself to be part of that group, I obviously insulted him, too.

While Rick Scott is indeed a shambling turdmonster, the lady in charge of Broward county's election commitee is no angel either.
It isn’t the first time Snipes has been at the center of controversy. Earlier this year, a federal judge said she illegally destroyed ballots in a 2016 congressional race. Her office has also been sued for leaving a constitutional amendment off ballots. Broward was the last county in the state to post its election results.

It's probably a cultural thing but insults aren't necessarily personal and instead are used to add colour, humour or scenario specific context to a particular point, eg in a BMI discussion calling you a fatty isn't me calling you fat, it's a reference to the subject matter and is used to frame the context of my comments.

It's a wonder British comedy is so popular in Germany.

This is true, but at the same time i think it's hard to argue against the view that actual insults are used extremely often and freely on FHC (and most places online in fairness) so he's not wrong.
