So that blue dog dude, Mnucinh ( however its spelled) will vote for Kavenbro. What is the use of this guy being a Democrat if he votes Republican on something of such enormous importance such as this?

    ?
There were 4 senators that were "on the fence." Or rather, pretending to be on the fence. Murkowski, Flake, and Collins are "moderate" Rs, Manchin is a conservative D. At least 2 of them needed to vote in favor to get Kavanaugh confirmed.

Flake called for the FBI investigation. Collins called for it to be comprehensive. It was a goddam sham.

Murkowski said she'll vote no. Flake said he'll vote yes.

Collins gave a 45 minute speech saying what a great guy Kavafucker is and how unfair we've been to him. She's voting yes. That's enough to get him confirmed.

Manchin will probably vote yes just so they don't have to get the VP involved.

The argument in his favor is that he won't be a deciding vote (he'll get them to 51, but if they needed him to get to 50, he wouldn't) and that we need him because he'll vote in favor of things like obamacare.

But honestly, any democrat voting for Kavanaugh should be fired.

    Out of a cannon.

    Into the sun.

There may be some surprises at the actual vote, but rather than lose in the midterms they would rather wait on the off chance they can impeach him now that he has perjured himself.

Imo the democratic establishment is fine with Kavanaugh. He'll be a reliable 'money=speech' and 'corporations are people when it comes to rights bit not responsibilities' vote. The Democrats just wanted to grandstand against him to raise money and get some free publicity for their preferred presidential candidates Booker and Harris asking 'tough questions'.

It appears that the Democrats didn't bother to do opposition research on Kavanaugh even after they knew there was a sexual assault allegation against him so they clearly didn't intend to seriously try and stop him.

Oh, yeah, here's Pelosi promising not to impeach Kavanaugh because the Democrats are all about unifying the country. https://www.yahoo.com/news/nancy-pel...180831344.html

Think I said it before, but I've just about given up on the US from a sociopolitical perspective. As long you dont fuck up the environment even worse (fat chance), dont cause another financial crisis (fatter chance) or start a world war (less likely thankfully), go ahead and do whatever you want to the brown and female parts of the population. This was the final straw really.

They could have him on tape admitting he perjured himself and will never get 60 votes in the Senate to remove him from office. It would take a Democratic house and supermajority Senate to impeach him, which would basically require Democrats to stop clumping up on the coasts.

so the real question is how far back are they going to take the US ?

i mean obviously, they aren't going to stop at abortion and segregation, you think they're going to put the 13th amendment up there as well and offer slavery as a alternative to life in prison ? it would be oh so american after all.
    Viking, n.:
    1. Daring Scandinavian seafarers, explorers, adventurers, entrepreneurs world-famous for their aggressive, nautical import business, highly leveraged takeovers and blue eyes.
    2. Bloodthirsty sea pirates who ravaged northern Europe beginning in the 9th century.

Hagar's note: The first definition is much preferred; the second is used only by malcontents, the envious, and disgruntled owners of waterfront property.

What did you expect from the Democrats really? They are controlled opposition, they always roll over and allow the Republicans to get their way even when they had a supermajority. I'm not holding my breath for anything meaningful to happen after November either.
