    Mini rant time..

Why the fuck does even international news just assume everyone knows every player in this stupid game and what side they are on. I don't actually have time to follow the politics of another country close enough so I would know who Bobby Nofucks is and what they stand for. Hell I hardly even so that for the country I'm in. For the love of fuck journalists just fucking tell me in the 2 paragraph news article and maybe you'll have written something of substance for a change.

So you would prefer journalists catering to the lowest common denominator, instead of presuming that their audience is competent enough to use the vast sea of collective knowledge available to educate themselves if they happen to not be on the same page...

Actually, I would prefer they did. Mostly because the vast majority of people pay little to no attention to politics and I honestly would be shocked if 50% of the average american knows 25% of the people involved in politics. Making people go and find out who these people are when they are only slightly interested is a sure way to disinterest people from a subject, ESPECIALLY when they are on their phone on the train and also ESPECIALLY when the article in question is literally 2 paragraphs long.

TL;DR people wont educate themselves and you end up doing something fucking dumb like voting in Trump if you assume they will.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said on Wednesday the Senate will not consider bills Democrats plan to vote on in the House on Thursday that would end the government shutdown but not include President Donald Trump’s demand for $5 billion for a border wall.

“The Senate will not waste its time considering a Democratic bill which cannot pass this chamber and which the president will not sign,” McConnell said on the Senate floor.
Democrats aren't going to blink, Turtle. The populace is going to notice you NOT putting forward bills of your own, because these kinds of bills have to start in the House. You're not going to be able to sit on this for a year like you did with the SCOTUS vacancy.

House Democrats are clashing over rules for the new Congress before it even opens, with three members slamming a budget provision they say will hamper their plans for health care and other priorities.

The House’s rules package for the Congress that convenes Thursday contains what’s known as a pay-as-you-go provision, which would require new spending to be offset with either tax increases or budget cuts.
    Nice.

We just had a giant tax cut for corporations that was passed without regard for the deficit.

Then for their first act in Congress, the Dems decide its time to follow Europe's austerity example before any progressive polices have a chance to take off

    Way too much I guess.

Hoping they have even the tiniest amount of fight in them is probably unrealistic

Of course; they’re liberals. Liberals appease fascists, they don’t fight them.

Can someone please explain to me, as a Trump supporter, why the government has been shut down when Mexico is paying for this wall anyway?

Edit: Rather than adding to my post count with more shit.. Am I correct in assuming this government shutdown would effect things like trump visiting North Korea? I mean that's realistically a non-essential service right? (No actual sarcasm there)

Shutdown is a bit misleading its more or less just the social services that get really fucked.

In terms of the big three: conservatives (UK), Stalinists (USSR) and only after Hitler sutpidly declared war on the US (Liberals) did they get involved.

So yeah, even that checks out.

And other, non-critical functions like Air Traffic Control and airport maintenance staff...

"We can do our jobs safely. As long as the controllers are coming to work, we'll do our jobs and the average passenger will arrive safely without putting passengers at risk. But the system relies on several moving parts, not the least of which are the air traffic controllers that are human and subject to the stress of anybody else would be in this type of situation," Hampton said.
Maintenance workers, aircraft certification specialists, engineers, infrastructure workers and others in positions key to air travel safety are also furloughed, the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) executive vice president Trish Gilbert told ABC News.

Before or after the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact?

Also, are UK conservatives not liberals in the context you where using the word, or are we changing contexts dynamically?

We both know what kind of appeasement went on before M-R and why it happened at all. Because UK and France didn't have the stones to enforce any red lines.
In fact, wasn't UK retreating the whole time until murica showed up to the party?

Well, they did try to fight in France, but the French where useless, and honestly, so was the British army at that point.

Battle of Britain and Africa was legit though.
