Ruri meanwhile pointed out that this tweet isn't even from a U.S. news outlet.

But even if it was, I disagree that this kind of coverage is what contributing to the "laughing stock" narrative. Because this whole topic (NFL players wrongfully accused of "protesting the anthem" while they never ever did such a thing) is the perfect example of how the current administration handles matters (and ruins the country's reputation):

    - Commenting political at sports, which hasn't been the case before
    - Inventing a totally misleading catch phrase for it ("anthem protest") and repeating it over and over again
    - Ignoring the actual and glaring issue at hand
    - Going so far as to call people SOB's and suggesting to deport them for kneeling
    - And now disinvite a whole team, of which exactly 0 (zero) players even once kneeled last last season, because a few players prefer not to join, which had happened lots of presidents before, without them bothering to much

    [Added]
And that tweet perfetly pictures while the escalation of that whole non-issue is so absurd. Also: is there a more humble gesture than kneeling? If anything, all those just standing during the anthem behave disrespectful.

Minnesota politics are a whirlwind right now. The sitting Attorney General didn't win on the first ballot of the primary for her own job, so she's jumped into an already-crowded governor's race, with a member of Congress as her running mate. Keith Ellison is leaving Congress to run for her seat. Eight Democrats have scrambled to run for his seat. Tim Pawlenty wants to run for his old job as governor. Both of our senators are on the ballot this fall.

It’s even more retarded when you consider that the kneeling was suggested by an actual ex special forces guy who met with Kaepernick after he originally refused to stand when his protest began.

I mean, its totally OK to sell American flag bikini’s people can wear against their bungholes, but holy shit if we dare draw attention to how many black kids get murdered by cops.

Fewer than crises of capitalism. Which is a little odd when you think about it.

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration secretly sought to give Iran access — albeit briefly — to the U.S. financial system by sidestepping sanctions kept in place after the 2015 nuclear deal, despite repeatedly telling Congress and the public it had no plans to do so.

I don't disagree with anything you said about the kneeling and tbh I'm not talking about that like I said on the last page it wasn't just a tweet, it was reported all over the place like it was some historic moment. The media latches onto these dumb sensationalist images (like the cyclist flipping off the motorcade) and passes them off like a huge event worthy of national coverage constantly.

This is the same US media that ignores actual protests all the fucking time; whether to intentionally silence movements that are dangerous to the elite (manufacturing consent) or simply out of sheer sensationalist greed it doesn't matter.

And I guess what the US media reports bleeds into Denmark and elsewhere too but that doesn't change my point since most reporting is just reprinting headlines run by other agencies.

    "guy kneels" headlines

      Spoiler:

Why is the media mostly ignoring the women's march? (And note this is just ONE example, they do this all the fucking time.)

After implementing the policy, did you expect them to not defend it?

Is the policy any more wrongheaded (and it is very much wrongheaded) because they defended it after implementing it?

    You seem shocked, which seems....odd.
