    Oh, soz, I thought you meant apple needs to clarify this publicly. Here's a link:

    Tldr: power runs across the back from left to right and heats up, causing the macbook to go into cooling mode and underclock as a way to try and run cooler. The power is on the right side, so using a USB on the right means the power cable from left to right inside doesn't heat up because its not used.
