The one on the back I'm p. sure will take a really long while to do, but I'm game with that, what I don't want to hear is oops or some other shit. Obviously willing to pay but not sure what the rates are and stuff, what is a good tattoo worth or how much do the consumables cost (needles, ink, etc).

    Cheers!
I won't comment on prices cuz you have funny furner money.

As for finding a good artist, check the shop, their reviews, and most importantly, the portfolio of the artist that you are going to work with. Make sure he has a style that you like for the piece you are going to get, plenty of people are good artists, but every body has a different style, so ideally, you want to find stuff in their portfolio that is similar to what you want to get.

The cost of ink and needles is relatively minor compared to the rest of the cost of running a shop, but you are primarily paying for the artist's skills and time. You can tell the artist to open their needles in front of you (most do anyway), so that you are sure that they are using new stuff, but at least in the US, in most regions shops are inspected by the health department, so it is rare that somebody doesn't know what they are doing from a disease transmission standpoint, but stick with well established shops with a good reputation.

First tattoo I got isn't mentionable and won't be posted until it's covered up. Second one was my life motto (with the skeletal hand) and most recent is the Camaro symbol with cross wrenches. Got that one last August. Each has symbolic meaning to me.

I'm not one to get random tattoos of things. Each one I have plans for has a specific meaning.

Camaro piece looks cool. You work on cars for a living, or on the side?

My idea for tattoo is a "comic style" (I have nfi what the name of the style is. Will picture when I'm home) reaper.

Also a space ship with "I want to believe" but I only had that idea the other day so odds on I'll think about it more and decide I don't want to do that.

Your posting is medium, its not rare and its not well done

Well, I'd explain it but your diminutive closed mindedness wouldn't comprehend it.

Yes, although I've branched off to running a parts store. Better hours, benefits etc. Having my certs and degree actually helps with dealing with customers.

My 79 Camaro is what got me into this industry and it's an homage to my roots before I had professional training. Figuring out how to replace an engine when never having done it before, tune etc.

Considering getting a tattoo myself, but was wondering if any of you have any information / sources on health risks concerning tattoos?
Asking because I have a pretty surpressed immune system and a somewhat fucked up skin due to medication. Wiki and google seem to get me very little good information.

Re: immunity issues, as long as the artist is using sterile equipment you shouldn't be getting any infections per se. Not sure about the skin thing, ask your tattoo artist to read you the chemical components of his inks and then talk to a dermatologist?

Will ask one of my specialists prior to having it done, but was wondering if anyone had some specific info. Great health system in my country, but you tend to get reffered around a lot for any kind of specific questions, taking a lot of time and effort.

If you are content with black and grey work, that is safest in regards to skin allergies, as color 'ink' is made with a variety of organic and inorganic pigment, and the exact recipes are not usually given out by manufacturers. Black is pigment is usually just carbon.

As to immune system issues, are you capable of healing moderate skin injuries without much complication? If no, I wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise, I'd do a very thin layer of triple anti-biotic for 2-3 days after the tattoo, then just switch to an unscented lotion.

Of course, as always, make sure you get work at a reputable shop, check out your artists portfolio. If concerned about infection, request that all needles and grips are opened up in front of you.

I have been trying to seek info on the following, internet info is way over the spectrum and most advice is plain retarded.

I have a tat on my arm and since 3 months its partly swollen. Not itchy, not ugly just blown up a bit and on bits the ink is faded. The tat is allmost 6 years old and the faded bits went back k just to be repleced by other faded bits.

Most internet muppets say its the weather, to much sun, not enough sun, to cold to warm, all that shit that doesnt help.

Do you guys have any clue ?

Dorvil maybe as he is a tat pro.
