How well does mashed potato reheat? I'm guessing not at all well. I was thinking of making a huge cottage pie for several days of easy eating but the sticking point I think is the mash.
Cottage/Shepards Pie reheats fine. I keep mine in the fridge up to three days sometimes depending on how big a pie I make. Ignore spakkers saying its bad. Tried with half sweet potatoes half normal and bit of cheese too. All good.
Microwave or oven for reheating? Does it make a difference?
Use the microwave, putting it in the oven will probably make the mash a bit too dry.
use damp kitchen towel/paper towel over the food to a) keep it from getting dry b) keep microwave clean
