Well mine is awfull, so no judging. Got a few mates into fantasy as they refused to touch 40k, got the IoB set just for laughs. Will go at them when I get back home again, see what happens.

Also doing Ulthwe HE's at the moment. I just sucked it up and sprayed them black, will be going for a more Black robes, Bone helms/details, red details and yet to decide on the metal. I feel that gold would go better with the warm bone but a bronze-look might come off better. Afraid it will be too much with massive gold scale armor on the swordmasters. :<

My experience with painting bretonnians says avoid gold and silver/bare metal, it tends to look boring in large quantities.

Bone platemail? It must be done.

Just pretend that the majority of the armor is covered by cloth The metal men just look horrible IMO, Also remember the option of different parts of the armor to be in different shades and the less-used metal colors like bronze or copper.

I found an awesome Ogres army painted and converted all pirate themed which Ive bought and getting some more stuff done by the guy. Ill put some photos up of those as well they are pretty cool.

Those Ogres are beautiful table top quality painted miniatures The blood angels need a bit more detail imo.

Yeah the BA are the ones I did which are pretty basic, I want to do something more with the cockpit screen as it looks really plain. I did a Baal with a lot more metal work showing where the paint had worn off but I think I overdid it so on these two I tried to cut back on it and see how it turned out.

Getting some more of the Ogres by the same guy and might get a land ship from Forgworld converted for them. Had my first game with the Ogres and tabled some High Elves.

That makes me want to try my Tau again.

give those tanks a big slap with devlan mud / agrax earthshade wash and they will look ok

I've put some on the tracks and assault ramps but not on the sides on this one. might add some more. I don't think the flash helped it hid some of the metal wearing on the edges. I washed all the red with bhaal red as well.

I got a sudden urge to chop up my bikers and make a Doom rider.

I miss Doomrider Bikes are now pretty awesome and attack bikes are even better.

I did a CSM + Daemon allies Nurgle army with Eperdemius and holy shit it raped. Wounding on 2+ in CC, 3+ FNP and no armour saves from anything. Thats some badass synergy going on I think this will be my standard anti horde army.

CSM DP, Nurgle, Wings.

3*7 Plague Marines, 1 melta, 1 plasma, champ with melta bombs, Icon, Rhino

3 Oblits

Land Raider + combi flamer.

Daemon Allies-
Great Unclean One + some gifts
Epedemius
2*7 Plague Bearers.

Everything except the Oblits, Rhinos and Land Raider add to Epedemius' Tally thing.

not bad and its easy easy easy painting. the washes only go where i want them to go and any mistakes are easily rectified. they dont look great but for someone who HATES painting and wants to bang out a set of 8 models in 4 hours or so its good.

the downside is i go through a LOT of devlan mud =)

Started doing this, still using old inks (late 80's to mid 90's) with dev mud and badab black while I wait for my new stuff to arrive. This is great for anyone who struggles with painting, good looking models in sensible time with minimal skill requirements.

Finished the B-17 only 5 months after I started it. Will put up some pics when I take some.

After enjoying all the little details in the B-17 I've decided the next major model will be super-detailing a ship.

The box:


The insides:

360 pieces of plastic, wooden decks, turned brass gun barrels, anchor chains and an unholy amount of tiny, tiny etched brass. Close to 500 pieces in all.

Look at that ladder, came perfectly flat and I had to bend it into shape. My exacto blade only just fit between the rungs to bend them.

Seems Darksphere arent shipping GW stuff anymore, I sense GW being dicks about how cheap they were. Does anyone know any other good discount sites for stuff? Ive tried Wayland Games but they are taking forever to process and ship things.

Wayland are ok, but as you said getting the stuff can take up to two weeks.

eBay stores are more of a last resort as I check eBay for most stuff anyway and only buy brand new stuff if its for a commission army or a project Im doing myself properly.
