Lebanon has effectively been involved in the war once Hezbollah - who has seats in Lebanon's parliament and effectively controls the south of the country - received its orders from Iran and marched into Syria to aid Assad against the SFA.
These guys are serious about re-establishing the Caliphate - that was also Al qeada's position for a long time - so they want to take the whole ME and a lot more.
Al qeada before 9/11 had their goals listed as:
1. Remove foreign influence from the lands of the Prophet
2. Capture the four cities (which means destroying Israel)
3. Restore the Caliphate and mend the schism in Islam ( which means destroying the Sh'ia
4. Recover all the lands once held by Islam (sorry Spain, Southern France, parts of Italy, The Balkans, etc).
5. Covert the world to Islam.
ISIS is al qaeda in Iraq rebranded if you will. They no longer see the West as their primary target (they realise that attacks on the West will bring intervention) so they are concentrating on destroying Sh'ia influence which means that this is currently aimed at Iran, Iraq and Iran's puppets.
But ultimately their goals are the same - take Mecca, Medina, Bagdad and Jerusalem - declare themselves the sole arbiters of "real Islam" and then call for a world jihad.
They won't succeed simply due to their cruelty which has already lost them territory in Syria, but they are going to kill a shit load of people in trying.
For the rest of the world the problems will start when the survivors start going home. Places like Indonesia, Malaysian and the Philippines will be particularly effected by returning jihadists.
