I think you don't follow the Syrian war from the start do you ?When it started it was peace manifestations but then Assad (the good dictator ) started to kill protestors including kids ( just watch some of the first Vice specials) .

But then even his own army started to rebel and taking vast parts of the country , he then proceds to ask for help and Iran, Lebanon and Palestine brigades enter into the fray, at this time the people who where protesting against him get we pons from Saudis and al-quaeda enters in the war .On the west the Curds are kicking everyone and creating a semi secular contry .

And then the refugees start to flee to Europe ,Assad starts his barrel bombing sometimes using chemical weapons and Obama and the US enter the fray on the FSA side , and then Putin sees an opening for the karma points and gives help to Assad starts to bomb everyone.

At this point every Fucking militia joins either daesh, ahrar al-sham ( Saudi ) or tharir al-sham (al-qaeda ) against FSA (nato) and Assad (Russia ,Iran, hezbolah) and the SDF rojava (kurds) and the war rages on , just watch the map or the news in the Web, or better yet just watch the series vive did on the Syrian war .

To answer your question no Assad shouldn't roll over and give his country to the jihadis, he should just made elections and get the fuck out before they would try kill him and his entire family .He did the worse thing ever he tried to kill is own citizians that wanted a democratic process and gave space to all the foregneirs powers a proxy war like the world hasn't seen since the cold war .

It was riots due to hunger and worsening economic conditions as a result of a 5 year long drought and large internal displacement of people from rural to urban areas seeking a better life, that failed to materialize. The rest of his post is more or less correct.

Vice news is basically fake news. Even worse than CNN. Their reporting is way off and usually in the most left wing way possible

So Erdogan is poised to try to Invade Afrin/Efrin against US and Russian whises i guess.

Erdogan according to Reuters are also activity threatening US troops. So will this be the year Turkey is kicked out of NATO?
“Either you take off your flags on those terrorist organisations, or we will have to hand those flags over to you, Don’t force us to bury in the ground those who are with terrorists,” he said.
    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-m...2F+Top+News%29

BEIRUT/ISTANBUL (Reuters) - Turkey’s Tayyip Erdogan threatened on Monday to “strangle” a planned 30,000-strong U.S.-backed force in Syria “before it’s even born,” as Washington’s backing for Kurdish fighters drove a wedge into relations with one of its main Middle East allies.
“This is what we have to say to all our allies: don’t get in between us and terrorist organisations, or we will not be responsible for the unwanted consequences,” Erdogan said.
So will Trump back down and take it in the ass and sell out the kurds per usual US policy or will this time be different?

I wouldn't be surprised if he sticks up for the Kurds. Israel would fucking love that, and by now, we know Trump doesn't give 2 shits about anyone else in the immediate vicinity (except possibly the Saudis).

Erdogan in big mouth, no-my-army-is-absolutely-motivated-after-I-executed-all-of-them non shocker. The Turkish military is very obviously plumbing the depths of military incompetence and lack of motivation. They got hammered by Isis when Isis itself was in retreat. Arm the Kurds properly and the Turks will get another hammering.

and this, is precisely why the US is going to abandon them and make sure the media looks the other way as the turks eventually use heavy artillery to level the area, village after village.

at this point, i would not even put another Armenian genocide past them tbh.
    Viking, n.:
    1. Daring Scandinavian seafarers, explorers, adventurers, entrepreneurs world-famous for their aggressive, nautical import business, highly leveraged takeovers and blue eyes.
    2. Bloodthirsty sea pirates who ravaged northern Europe beginning in the 9th century.

Hagar's note: The first definition is much preferred; the second is used only by malcontents, the envious, and disgruntled owners of waterfront property.

Looks like its the selling out route the US are taking. Statement read "Afrin is outside the coalitions area of operation".

Very, very disappointing if the U.S. abandons the Kurds.....again......but at this point anyone who trusts the U.S. is making a fatal mistake. We're utterly unreliable as an ally.

Turkey is an associate member of the EU and a member of NATO, right? Are either of those organizations doing anything to put a brake on Turkey vs. the the Kurds?

Turkey is an associate of EU in name only. They will never ever be let in with Erdogan or his cronies in power. The only reason for not kicking them out of the associate program is that Turkey keeps a lid on refugee stream to the EU.
