    Why the change?
Not happy with the Tuono or just want the beemer that much more?
Just wanted to get something more suitable for pillion, safer (abs etc) , newer etc

Not bothered about the power tbh

That is fair reasons. The Tuono is renowned for being very fast and very hot.
    It's V4 sounds amazing tho.

On one of the years last rides I find some amazing roads.

    Lake at Häckaberg Castle

A 17km stretch with fantastic roads, along farmlands and through the forests.

Silly farmers dragging dirt on my new roads.

Next Saturday I'll be the proud owner of a new ninja 650! Test ride on the street today and I absolutely love it.

Can't wait to Dark Flare it!

In actuality though I will be going very slow. It's no race bike and I am no Rossi. Still oodles of fun.

The Tiger is severely lacking in its class. The 2018 models will get the much needed updates.
Bike is old compared to its competitors, small tank & high usage etc.

I would recommend the S1000XR over Tiger.
(Quick shifter, cruise control, riding modes, cornering abs etc etc.)

I know but it doesn't vibrate as much as the XR and I also don't really care about all the rest. It gets very good reviews for its riding comfort and handling and it also costs about 2000.- less than the XR without any options. Add all the extra stuff to the XR, like the stuff you just mentioned, and the price goes up to about 5000.- more than the Tiger.

    The XR vibrations is non-existent.
All bikes got them, and it's just a thing from most journalists to comment on it.

Check the long-time reviews and none of them will mention it as a bother.

Thanks, I just did! I think track days may be in my future. Need some time on it first, luckily the weather and roads are perfect here through the winter. I was able to go about 300 miles last weekend, sure to do more this one. Feels ridiculously good to finally be on a bike after wanting to for years.

Most importantly, The Tiger Sport is ridiculously sexy, and the XR looks like BMW copied styling hints from Suzuki's older V-Stroms and Honda's older Crossrunners. It's fucking ugly.

Honestly the ER6 is still one of the best bikes I've ridden. Such an easy thing to ride, and surprisingly comfortable.
