So last week I took a 7 day and 2000 km trip down to Croatia with my best friend to do some off-road driving. It was the first long trip with a packed motorcycle for me and also the first time driving properly off-road. I have to say I had a blast!
First we drove via the Großglockner down into Austria to stay there for the night, then the next day through the Triglav national park in Slovenia into northern Croatia. On the third day we took the coastal road down to Starigrad Paklenica, where we stayed for 2 nights to have the full next day driving through the back-country (around the Mali Alan) on gravel roads. After that we took more or less the same way back, with some variation in the track and with visiting the Mangart (wich was epic!).

    Here are some pictures:

The moron flipping his lid in the comments is me. Chris was veeeeerrrry lucky in a very unlucky way. If it had been a Swiss rider it would have been a year long loss of license and a CHF 15000.- fine.

Beginning of Season - Stock Bike

Ending of Season - 8588km (Would have been 10kkm if not for Cam shaft failure)

That looks very nice, although I'm not a fan of carbon. With the ding in your exhaust, I think I would have gone for a skid plate instead.

My poor Versys is in need of a service - brakes, pads and possibly disks up front too, oil, air filter, new chain. I just don't feel like doing it right now. I'm having my usual grey days depro at the moment.

The Akro got carbon on it, so it matches it. Except the fibers patters differs.

This was the only belly pan to be a guaranteed fit on a 2018 w/catalyst.
Found a couple of others, but they needed to be painted which made them very expensive.

The craftsmanship on that belly pan is mental!

After they fixed my front wheel, I have braking issues.
When I brake gently my front wheel shakes/vibrates. Gotten much better, don't know if it will sort itself out.

When cleaning my bike today, I noticed this on both front discs. They lose. Rear one is not moving.
I'm a mechanical imbecile, but this doesn't seem right to me.

Yeah. That's not right. I'm also a mechanical imbecile, but I'd call the shop and get it checked out and not ride it.

What are floating discs? Don't grab the outer part of the disc, they're supposed to be loose (to reduce vibrations and shakes). So thats exactly right.

    Thanks!

I've heard about floating discs, but until this moment no idea how they worked.

According to ze internets, it's mainly to avoid warping when the outer disk expands when it heats up. That said, there will be a very strict tolerance of just how much the rotors, i.e. disks, can expand. When the brakes are warm, it should not rattle.

EICMA currently on in Milan. Loads of new bikes, and for a change, some really good looking and interesting ones, too.
