Ta, thanks. Haven't picked it up yet, needs new tires, the MoT etc. I was really lucky, as the guy had dropped the price from 7600.- € the day before and had already had a number of enquiries.

I put Bridgestgone Battlax ST30's on my STR last year. 6000km's later they are still perfect.
A little flat, but 80% of my commute is on a highway.

Picture from a nice after work tour today. The weather was perfect!

Also finally got my new exhaust. Sounds so much better and pulls nicer through the lower revs as well (as i now have no more catalytic converter).
      Spoiler:

Bike looks good, and more importantly, your immediate area looks very entertaining for riding.

Agreed, the bike looks spotless, and the area looks like fun riding territory as well.

To get those extra windy routes with elevation. Can export to almost all navigation program formats.

Let's look at Eshnalas route as an example:

    Regular / motorway route

    Extry windy

    +90km / +10km elevation / +2.5h

Preaty neat, been using it to map my Gayx-5 tours. N1.
Just inspect the route closely when you switch to extra windy, sometimes the algorithm ends up creating small loops to access a road.

Kurviger.de is great, but i prefer Motoplaner.de tbh. As I dont let the navi route for itself between start and end, but manually adjust the route over the full length and later export it to my navigation app.

The navi app I have on my phone can do something similar with trying to create curvy routes, but with that I always ended up turning at intersections left and right just for the sake of driving corners and it always led me into rural areas. There was no "flow" whatsoever. And after having a short look at Kurviger.de, it seems to have the same issue.

Did you take that tour or planning to? Looks like it goes through my home-town ... village. Or at least 5km beneath it (everything is 5km away from that village). Böttingen it is. I suggest the Kirchbühler Hütte in Mahlstetten for a good Schweizer Wurstsalat or the Lippachmühle in the valley for a good meal.

Discovered yesterday that it'll only cost an extra CHF 170.- in insurance a year to keep my Versys and my KTM. So, I'll ride the Versys for a full season then and baby the KTM for next year.

Kinda surprised we didn't see him getting cleaned up by the 4WD. I've been on the internet too long.

Finally picked up teh SMT today. The bike is not a city bike. It's a bike that likes to say fuck you to cars.

Almost double the hp, 60% more torque, heavier but feels far lighter and also drives that way. Insane acceleration, at least for me. Very, very snatchy throttle, has to be driven with care due to very heavy engine braking, i.e. a lot of clutch use. Even though the seat is narrower, it feels much more comfortable, legs at much less of an angle. When you open it up, it's simply amazing, though. Never been on a bike that corners as well and as smoothly as this. Feels far more stable in corners. Hard to keep at constant speed in town. All in all, I absolutely love it. It feels like it has rough edges and has to be treated that way.

The side bags, even though small, are surprisingly good. The tank bag is a fucking pain when filling up.

No riding modes to make it less twitchy?
It just takes a few days and you are used to it.

Sadly more power = more fun
    Encourages your to ride harder
