Tried the demo last night and my time just disappeared.

Not sure if I want to throw money at it given how the demo alone managed to make several hours go away.

bought it, had dreams about chaging my production queue to serial with single product instead of (clusterfuck) single input reprogrammable output.

Bought this game a few days ago but :life: has conspired to keep me from it. I imagine it will consume most of my free time this weekend.

After trying to set up way too ad-hoc supply chains it occurred to me; don't worry about automating everything just expand the production of raw materials until it gets too cumbersome to move stuff to freestanding assemblers.

I tried doing that, things kind of just fell apart around the science 2 chain.

i think i have a problem... played this for over 12hours yesterday... so good. so addictive.

Slowly getting the hand of keeping everything nice and compact and not a sprawling mass of belts.

Trying to balance expandability and productivity without becoming a sprawling mess is the big challenge atm.

I found that keeping everything too compact makes it difficult to expand, instead have each type of production be as compact as possible and have some distance to the next.

Same. I now do mass amounts of smelting at the ore fields. Doesn't take much coal to smelt a ton of stuff.

One electric miner will supply 3 iron smelts or 2 copper I have decided. I then ship the Bars and Sheets to the center and process there. I have a feeling one standard gear maker will supply 2 red science makers np.

More like 4 or 5 assuming the gear maker has a full supply of iron and electricity and a pair of inserters to get iron plates into it fast enough.
